Best Western Plus Rio Grande Inn
10/10 Excellent
"A great hotel! Very clean and spacious rooms. Bathroom was a bit on the smaller side, but workable. The lobby was spacious, the staff was courteous. Some great things about the hotel: it is only a quarter mile from Old Town that is the shopping center of Albuquerque - an easy walk down Rio Grande Blvd. The hotel has an on site restaurant that serves (free) gourmet breakfast - this was a welcome break from the canned/preserved fare that's served these days at most "Breakfast included" hotels/inns. Besides breakfast too, the restaurant carries delicious Santa Fe style entrees (pretty much the same taste-wise as compared to other famous/highly recommended Santa Fe restaurants), as well as burgers and sandwiches. Hotel provides shuttle to nearby destinations, as well as to the airport. The location is also convenient, right off I-40 and just two exits away from I-25/I-40 intersection. The Petroglyph National Monument is also very close. A special shout out to Gillian at the front desk who went out of the way to make sure our ride to and from old town was smooth and comfortable."
"The hotel was nice. Check in was great. Guy was super nice and accommodating. I had just driven 10 hrs from San Diego and was driving 10 the following day taking my daughter, her dog and her car to Oklahoma State University. When we got in late I was going to jump in the shower before bed but the shower wasn’t getting hot so I figured I’d just wait til morning before getting on the road for another -0 hr drive. No hot water at all. On check out I told them there was no hot water and they said some of the rooms had been reporting it. I asked that the manager call me and she did. She was apologetic and said she credited me room service (roughly $50) and the $26 hotel service fee. It was a nice gesture but man I couldn’t put a price tag on a hot shower after that drive. Sort of soured me on the experience "
"Cute renovated motel within walking distance from Old Town, although I probably wouldn't walk it after dark. Room was clean, comfortable, and quiet. Really enjoyed the courtyard and sitting area and the live band was an added bonus. Only stayed one night as we were passing through, but would have loved to have stayed another night and would definitely visit again. "

"This is a unique renovated Route 66 property. It is very well done and a very friendly staff. The updates may not be consistent with the 50s and 60s., But overall, it is a very well done renovation."
