The rest of the peninsula has much to offer, including a number of ’Corbett’ mountains, the stunning Loch Sunart, Ardnamurchan Lighthouse at the most westerly tip of the British Isles and the Ardmamurchan Distillery. There are pristine, sandy beaches along the coast, including Sanna Bay with its impressive white sand dunes and views across to Muck, Eigg and Rum. There is an abundance of wildlife, seabirds, seals, otters, deer, pine martens, as well as dolphin/whale watching and the Natural History Visitor Centre. It is possible to rent mountain bikes in the village and go for local kayak trips. You can also enjoy day trips to Glencoe and Ben Nevis (with skiing possible at each), and fans of Harry Potter can take the ’Jacobite Express’ steam train from Fort William to Mallaig, see the Glenfinnan Viaduct and so much more.
