Not as stated on VRBO website. A big disappointment
It was a beautiful location. It was internally very clean but the grounds were quite dirty, badly maintained, and the pool needed deep cleaning. The condition of the internal fittings was basic and rather worn. The downstairs section smelt of damp.The worst problem was the air conditioning which did not work, so we had serious difficulty sleeping and trying to keep cool. We had a heat wave when we were there, with extreme weather warnings, and we desperately needed good air-con. One unit worked out of 4, so 7 people had dreadful nights of discomfort. The pool pump failed for 48 hours, so the pool became murky. I cleaned it twice with the pool brush/net device, and removed a lot of vegetation and other rubbish. Luckily, the pump restarted and the chemical blocks could start to work again.The pool needed a professional deep cleaning session. I had no real feedback from the host when I was chasing for air-con repair, but the local maintenance man was fairly responsive. He organised re-gassing of the air conditioners, but unfortunately two of them failed again within 24 hours, which extended our misery. The air-con units need to be replaced along with all inter-connecting pipework.Given the weekly fees for this place, it should have been a 5 star property, and when compared with other villas I have experienced it was, in reality, barely a 3 star property. I genuinely believe we deserve a partial refund. I will now be very wary of VRBO, and seek further reviews before booking.
