The location is superb and can't be beaten for right balance of closeness to airport yet also closeness to great restaurants, shopping, etc. (Try Tia B's Waffleria and El Cotorro, both in quick walking distance.) The neighborhood felt really secure and is appealing, and the property felt safe and secure. Both the neighborhood and property are very quiet.
We really enjoyed the hot tub. The kitchen was great and the dining table easily would accommodate 6 people.
The property was very clean. There were some areas that needed final touches as the property is still being renovated in the back (our rental was the front part of the property)--just stuff like finishing off door frames with paint etc. That didn't bother us or impact our stay--just be aware if this kind of thing would bother you.
The not so great part of our stay was that the heat wasn't on our first night. (Yes it gets cold in ABQ at night.) I called the property owner the next morning, albeit at 8 a.m. ABQ time, so I may have awakened him. But I wanted to be sure he had plenty of time to get HVAC in, and this was a Friday.
He directed me to a thermostat and then said he wasn't sure why the heating wasn't working in the front, and he didn't know why it doesn't work sometimes. I said we had looked in the back section too for the thermostat, and I got what felt like a lecture about NOT GOING IN THAT SECTION or using it--of course we didn't use it because (a) it was clearly under construction and (b) we understood we'd rented the front part of the house. And yet... the description for Nob Hill says "kitchenette" and "fire pit" are available--and these are CLEARLY in the under-renovation back section, so we didn't see the big deal about looking for the thermostat back there.
Well, HVAC did come, and the HVAC man was very professional and kind. Yay! And... after inspecting the whole house, explained that the heating for the whole house comes from the BACK section (under renovation), that the thermostat is in the BACK section, and that the heating/thermostat in the FRONT section (where we stayed) was disconnected/no longer functional.
So... the frustration for us is that the description of the property is NOT clear (referencing the kitchenette and a fire pit in an area that is not part of the actual rental), not having heat the first night, the property owner/manager's confusion over this.
In the end, though, we really enjoyed our stay in ABQ and the property.
