"Property was as described, older cottage and clean. In a very quiet neighborhood up the road from the National Park Sandstone Visitors Center. There was quite a bit of train activity, up to 6 passes in the middle of the night. We knew about it from other reviews and it didn’t really bother us. We woke up and fell back asleep. "

"Just what we were looking for. Met all of our needs. Kitchen was well stocked. We enjoyed sitting on the screened porch with cheese and crackers and a cool refreshing adult beverage and watching the New River go by. Very convenient location to Sandstone Falls. We also drove to Oak Hill and Fayetteville and Grand View for hiking and visiting old abandoned coal mining towns in the New River Gorge National Park. "We visited New River Gorge for my son's senior trip. He loves to fish so we wanted to stay close to the water. This home was perfect! The river was just across the road with easy access. The house was as described and had everything we needed for a comfortable 5 night stay. The host was wonderful and quickly responded to my questions. We loved our time on the New River!"

"Beautiful location, lovely facilities. My cottage had flimsy boards on the porch, which need replacing. My room was very nice, but also had some structural integrity issues. The floor was very wavy. The uneven floor made it impossible to close the bathroom door. (Thank goodness I was alone.)The HVAC units in the room were not working properly, but maintenance responded very quickly. "

"Staff were wonderful! Loved looking out my 4th floor window that faced the side/back of the property. The animals and scenery were beautiful. Wish they would at least wipe down the outside tables in the morning. So many of us wanted to enjoy breakfast out there. I asked for a towel with no problem and was happy to do it myself. The town closes up by 9pm, thank goodness for Taco Bell!"

"We had stayed here previously. Safe location,clean rooms and courteous staff. On this stay the hot tub and pool heater were broken and we were so looking forward to using them on this most recent trip. Breakfast bar is outstanding and well maintained. Definitely will stay here again on future visits."
