"The inner courtyard is lovely. We had popped in for a drink when previously in Zafra so this time decided to stay. The beds were very comfortable and everywhere was clean. The breakfast was very good and we stayed for dinner, mostly due to the lovely surroundings. The service was very good and the food was fine though not outstanding. The staff were all very friendly and helpful.
My only complaint relates to the water. We were on the third floor and we had to waste a considerable amount of water...
"Excellent value for money. Staff are very friendly and helpful despite lack of English and our lack of Spanish! No complaints and will stay there again if visiting Zafra. Thoroughly recommended!"
"Everything was very clean, there isn’t anyone at the front desk and you have to do everything online but it wasn’t bad. The staff that were there, only during breakfast, were very kind and the food was delicious. "
"Very central and an easy walk into centre. Lovely setting, it's partly built into the city wall. Very clean and nice communal areas. Communication is very difficult as we have limited Spanish and non of the staff spoke English but we battled through. We've stayed her several times on our way back and forwa to Cadiz and we will definitely stay again. There parking available at a rate of 10Eur per day however it's worth the extra as it is secure."
"The staff were very hospitable which was more similar to the customer service in the U.S. than in other parts of Spain. There were also friendly dogs that were sweet and it's in a very peaceful location. We tried a red wine from their vineyard and I had no complaints."
"An unusual and old fashioned property with generous sized and comfortable rooms. A beautiful courtyard and garden make it a restful place to stay and local bars are walkable. Very friendly and helpful staff. Speaking Spanish is an advantage."
"The hotel is well placed for travel south in Spain being just off the A66.
The room was spacious and comfortable with a good en suite facility.
Less good is the restaurant which doesn’t serve food until 8pm - not good after a day’s travelling. The choice of dishes is limited and the food is not sufficiently well cooked. On one occasion we were given crisps instead of chips. The choice at breakfast is very limited. The restaurant staff (unlike those at reception) seem unwilling to please.

"The check in was a breeze. Most friendly and helpful staff. Very convenient secure parking right next to the hotel.
Everything was great, except for the breakfast service and noise. The quality of hot food was poor, as was the fresh fruit and fruit juice. There were a couple tour groups who were loud and boorish. Pretty noisy night too with constant banging of doors. Not the fault of the hotel…

"The lady on the reception when I checked in was very helpful and welcoming. She spoke English which helped due to my Spanish not being the best. Even though they don’t do breakfast there (hot drinks and vending machines only) I was informed of a place that opens from 7am where I could get breakfast and it’s on the same street. Building look new inside and out."

"The hotel is very comfortable and within walking distance of the historical sites. The bed was very comfortable. The staff was helpful with extra pillows and blankets. There are shops and restaurants nearby. Overall this place is a good value."
"We needed a hotel for three adult family members with parking for one night, conveniently located near Mérida’s old town, and Hotel Velada met our needs perfectly. Check-in was prompt and smooth, and we were able to add a last-minute breakfast option without any hassle. Extending check-out by an hour was also easy to arrange with a quick phone call.
The room, while on the smaller side, was clean and well-prepared to accommodate all our needs. The hotel’s location was a big advantage, within walking distance of a covered public swimming pool as well as the Roman amphitheater and theater. Overall, it was a great choice for our short stay in Mérida."

"It is a small cozy hostal. Beds and pillows are very comfortable. Staff is very friendly. No breakfast, but local business are just a few steps away. Which we enjoyed a lot. Merida is a friendly beautiful city, with a lot of history and art."
