Special place to stay
Stayed with friends over from USA. We all loved the place, it had the WOW factor we were looking for. Beautiful interior, views and the welcome pack starter was much appreciated (as was the thoughtful store cupboard). Lovely and warm when we arrived and we had great fun in the evenings playing snooker. Would book to stay here again.

Back to Northumberland
The building is unique and was a great adventure for the family staying in our own mini castle - but comfortable and homely. Comfy beds quiet location so all slept like logs. Instructions for the oven and hob would have been helpful. Great base for a relaxing getaway within easy reach of Lindisfarne, Bamburgh and Alnwick castles and Northumberlands beaches and wild open spaces

Lovely stay at the tower.
Great property, lovely location - makes an excellent base for exploring the towns and coastline. Layout of the accommodation worked brilliantly for us (family of 5 adults and one dog)....plenty of room for everyone to have their own space. Has a great sized kitchen, lounge and games room for whole family gatherings in the evening. Excellent communication with the host....lovely welcome pack on arrival which was very much appreciated. Would definitely recommend staying here.

Great place just needs a few tweaks to place it better. Better cleaning would be needed and cooking facilities were not as expected .Difficult to cook Christmas dinner .

Our own castle!
Staying at The Pele Tower was a really fun experience. Everything was of the highest quality - the family bathroom was a work of art and the kitchen was beautiful as well. We also found a riverside path nearby where we could walk by the river and then cross on a footbridge to the village on the other side. We couldn't have asked for more when staying here.

Fabulous stay in own castle
A wonderful few days in my own castle. Luxurious and very well equipped kitchen with a welcome pack. Bathrooms are fantastic. The garden and grounds were enjoyed by adults, 2 granchildren and 2 dogs. The furniture and decor were very much in keeping with being in a castle. the cleaning, bedding and towels was excellent. Lots of family places to visit nearby, highly recommend.

Unique property
The castle was a joy, as was the location. We all thoroughly enjoyed staying there. Ben was very helpful when needed. The area is stunning, ideal for walks, learning the local history etc. A car is needed to get anywhere there aren't any amenities in walking distance. The cleaning could be improved, clumps of dust under furniture, etc it needs more attention. We would stay again.

superbly unique castle home
fantastic accommodation with a truly medieval feel, at the same time enjoying the modern conveniences of central heating, comfy beds, modern kitchen appliances. the grounds are stunning, and the short walk down the path into the village is perfectly lovely. the town of alnwick just 15 min away has much to offer, including walks, charming pubs & shops, and the saturday market in the square. we would love to return for another stay in the future.

An enjoyable stay in the Pele Tower
The Pele Tower was a great place to celebrate our wedding anniversary. It is well situated to explore Northumberland. Our host (Ben) managed our messages/enquiries promptly and efficiently. The tower is well provisioned, we stayed in March and so enjoyed the use of the fire. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and the showers/bath were effective. The only suggestions we have for development are that we found the lounge furniture to be not very comfortable and so it may be beneficial to consider an update, and the main door lock can be very temperamental. Other than that, we thought the tower was smashing and would consider staying again.

Outstanding accommodation - everything you could ask for in a wonderful location
The tower was even better than we had hoped for and very well equipped. The setting is wonderful - a combination of English eras - the charming village green leading to the medieval tower. The accommodation was extremely comfortable and spacious which was a luxury. Our 18 year old son wanted to return with his friends as soon as we walked in the door ( we hadn't made it to the landing with the main accommodation). The living accommodation is spacious - the first floor is a large sitting room and huge kitchen diner. The sitting room has a log burner, a range of chairs and sofas and was comfortable but clearly cozy. We stayed during a warm spell but clearly the room was equipped with comfort in mind for all seasons. The kitchen was very well equipped; oven, hob, enormous american fridge freezer washing machine and dryer (downstairs). There was plenty of crockery, cutlery, glassware - everything for a really enjoyable house party. Small but thoughtful touches demonstrated the host's hospitality including leaving the makings of tea/ coffee a first drink as you arrived. The instructions were also helpful. The bedrooms and bathrooms were on the top floor with good sized rooms and a luxury bathroom. The views from all the windows were a treat to wake to. There is a lovely garden with a small play house ( our family is now past that stage but for younger families surely an attraction). There were pleasant walks around the village and so many sights of interest within 30 minutes that we were happily occupied for our week. We would happily recommend this to anyone - a real treat.

Magnificent border castle for family getaway
What a place! This is such an incredible venue. We (mum, dad, 2 young kids) stayed for four nights in the autumn, and it was just brilliant. It is definitely in an out-of-the-way location, in a small, very-rural village. All the residents were friendly and welcoming. The tower's garden fence has the river Aln on one side, a stone manor on another, and a sheep field on the other. All perfect for story-making and adventures of dragon-hunting and pooh-sticks. For young families, the castle is just magical. Our little ones loved the playhouse at the end of the garden and helping daddy 'play snooker' in the beautiful cellar. Be aware if taking very little ones that the stone staircase is wider than most stairgates but with a bit of care it's as safe as anywhere could be. We're keen cooks (just as well as there are no shops or restaurants of any kind within walking distance) and the kitchen is well enough equipped to satisfy us. There's a huge USA-style fridge/freezer so visit a supermarket and stock up well before arriving: you won't want to leave once you get settled in. The master suite is even better than the photos suggest, and the family bathroom is also gorgeous. Whilst you're not going to be able to walk to major tourist attractions, there is loads to do nearby. Alnwick is beautiful, and Alnmouth and Druridge Bay compete for the best UK beach in our opinion. Round every corner there's another castle, panorama, waterfall, picturesque town, observatory or mansion. We were even lucky enough to have two clear skies and I have never seen the milky way with such clarity in the UK before. Unless it wasn't clear, we love the place. So much that we're going back in February half term!

Enjoyed the holiday but…
This is a beautiful property in a lovely location and we’ve enjoyed both times we’ve stayed here but we were disappointed that the property has not been maintained as well as it could be since our previous visit. No wood / kindling for the fire, lots of dead flies in the kitchen, a poor mix of crockery, only 2 saucepans that work with the induction hob, a number of radiators didn’t work etc. All little things that are easily fixed and hopefully will be for the next visitors.
