While it is a bit overrun with tourists at this time of year, Halstatt Hideaway is set above the hustle and bustle and always offered a quiet escape. "I was upgarded to a one bed apartment from a studio as they had to move me to a different hotel location (mirabell). The room was huge, very modern and clean. "We had a wonderful time staying at this apartment. Good view of the mountains as it sits opposite on the hill. It is a bit of a walk into town, but we did not mind it. It was really nice to have a walk after dinner! Apartment was clean, simple, but has everything you need. As our visit was in the summer - we did not use the sauna. Be aware the garage is small. We had a van and fortunate not all the spaces were full or we would have trouble getting in/ out. Would definitely stay here again!"

"The property is accurately described and the apartment is furnished with everything that is needed for an extended stay. It is an easy walk down the hill to Ellmau from the apartment. The mountain views from the apartment are spectacular. The owner is very easy to communicate with and always responds in a timely fashion. Our stay was for three days and we hope to return again. "For UK guests, having to take your own bedding and towels is a negative. Location is not a two-minute walk into town: ten minutes in, nearly twenty back as it’s all up! The bus from town finishes at 5pm. Kitchenette is facilitated - just. A dining table would be nicer than the fixed worktop, especially as there is room. The specification suggests there is a bedroom but it is a studio apt with a separate bathroom. Good sized balcony and large glass doors a definite bonus with a decent view."

"Absolutely amazing apartment in a fabulous location just a short walk to the station old town and everywhere else we wanted to visit. The hotel / apartments totally exceeded all our expectations and every single staff member went out of their way to help and ensure our stay was smooth and stress free. Well set up with everything needed to be self sufficient and self cater. For our family stay it was absolutely perfect and would definitely recommend it and come back again if we return to Salzburg...

"Review for Hotel Schwabenwirt We stayed at Hotel Schwabenwirt for two nights and had a great experience. One highlight was the early check-in—our room was ready when we arrived, which made things very convenient. The staff was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and professional, adding to the pleasant stay. Our room was very spacious, with a modern and well-lit bathroom. The bed was comfortable and spacious, and we slept very well both nights. The windows provided excellent sound insulation, so despite the hotel’s strategic location right across from the Berchtesgaden train and bus station, we had no issues with noise at all. The hotel is located right in front of the Berchtesgadener Ache, a beautiful river with crystal-clear waters, adding to the charm of the surroundings. The location is not only strategic for transportation but also very convenient, with two supermarkets (Rewe and Lidl) and a DM drugstore right next door. This made it easy to grab anything we needed during our stay. The breakfast was very good, with a nice variety of options to start the day. Overall, I wouldn’t think twice about returning to Hotel Schwabenwirt when visiting Berchtesgaden. Its convenient location, beautiful surroundings, and friendly staff make it a great choice. Highly recommended!"

"The property is lovely, and the food was amazing. We had breakfast on our reservation but they suggested that we added half board and dinner would be included as well, for 36 euros extra, per person, for a buffet. It was well worthy. Although the room was a bit far from the reception, we walk underground through a tunnel under the hotel, so it was not hard. Perhaps if you have heavy luggage it could be, due to some steps along the way, but the hotel was really nice and the 2 rooms spacious."
