Home away from home
Best place we've stayed in. John and Gill are lovely people. Great hosts, very helpful. Very comfortable home in an idyllic part of the UK. Amersham is a lovely old town in the countryside. We loved it. We will be back soon and often.

John and Gill have a wonderful little getaway home in the Barn. And they make every visit special.
John and Gill’s guest house in Old Amersham is becoming home away from home for us. We love the home, the town and the region of South Buckinghamshire. John and Gill are always welcoming and helpful, lovely people.

Gill and John are fabulous hosts and The Old Barn is excellent in every way!
The location of the property could not be better both for convenience and beauty. Our hosts had the refrigerator stocked and everything we needed for our week’s stay was at out fingertips. The home was sparkling clean and organized and Gill and John were on hand to answer all of our questions. We could not have asked for a better week and we will certainly be back and so will our 3 children who LOVED their stay in Amersham.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this lovely renovated barn in Old Amersham. It is a very nicely presented property in a great location. The owners are very accomodating and thoughtful in the manner in which the property is prepared for guests. We would definitely recommend this property to family and friends. We hope to stay again soon.

Accommodation was good & as expected; comfortable, compact indoor seating areas for 4 adults
We very much enjoyed our weekend stay in The Old Barn, Old Amersham. John was very welcoming and attentive. Lovely touch to leave a birthday card for my daughter. He emailed us really good arrival instructions and information about the accommodation. The kitchen was very well equipped and usable. The iron, hair dryer, washing machine and dishwasher all useful and worked well. We had to rearrange the seating so as all four of us could watch the TV/use coffee table. The dining table was a bit compact to sit 4 adults around. Weather wasn't good enough to do so, but the courtyard was very spacious for at least 6 and was a very useful enclosed space to leave muddy boots, leave door open for our dog to come and go. There was a large BBQ; this would be lovely in the summer months. The beds were very comfortable. The Barn was very clean. With just one toilet/shower and living space fairly compact, it would be very tight if two further guests were sleeping on the bed settee. Lots of lighting options and plenty of plug sockets. John was on hand when there was a power failure. There was plenty of hot water. The Barn is situated near many pubs and restaurants. John's recommendations for places to eat were useful; as well as, taxi service information and local places to run/walk. I would recommend.
