About this property

Entire place

You'll have the entire home to yourself and will only share it with other guests in your party.

Cozy and private. 6 min drive to Beach with volcanic views.

Cozy cottage located about a mile off Sterling Hwy in Anchor Point (midpoint between Ninilchik and Homer). Perfect for the whole family to enjoy a getaway to the Kenai Peninsula. This little work in progress is a 30 min drive to downtown Homer, The Halibut Fishing Capital of the World. Here you can find an abundance of fun like halibut/salmon charters, bear flightseeing, restaurants, beaches, rivers, golf, eateries, coffee shops, art galleries, local sightseeing and more. The entire 1 acre parcel is at your disposal for outdoor fun with your animals (additional fee) or kids!

A cozy cottage is the only way to truly experience Alaska whilst visiting! That being said, this cottage comes equipped with all your home amenities including a private bedroom containing one cozy and supportive queen-sized bed, a nightstand with lamp and a dresser, black out shades to hide the midnight sun, and an ensuite fully equipped with a 6+ ft shower stall and all things you need to wash the sand, sun and fish guts off.

This “open floor space” is heated by a propane monitor and comes with a full kitchen including a gas cooktop and oven as well as a fridge, microwave, stainless deep sink, cabinets containing pots and pans, dishes, glassware and utensils, as well as a coffee pot, a bean grinder and coffee filters.
A brand-new queen sleeper sofa with a 4inch Gel Foam mattress (all linens provided, and can be made prior to your arrival upon request), and a dining area with seating for 3 that can also be used as a dedicated work space, as the table is equipped with an outlet and USB ports to keep you charged up and online.
Stay entertained in the evenings with the 32" HD TV equipped with a firestick that has all your favorite streaming apps.
((There is a woodstove, but we kindly ask that you refrain from touching or using it.))
There is a porch with outdoor furniture so, you can relax while watching the wildlife, listening to my neighbors’ turkeys, chickens and horses or experiencing the prehistoric call of the Sandhill Crane.

There is a gas grill and a charcoal grill. The propane tank has been provided by me, but is not filled by me. Chevron in Homer can fill it if it is empty. To my knowledge at the time of typing this, it is FULL. I do not provide charcoal. If you are to use either, please be smart and aware of your surroundings, please move the grills away from the house when in use. :)

For longer stays there is a laundromat at the local Cheeky Moose approx. 8 miles away or free laundry in the cottage itself with a private washer and dryer (short stays ((2 weeks or less)), detergent and dryer sheets provided).

Every person staying in the cabin regardless of age counts as a guest. The cottages max occupancy is 4 adults as the septic and well are not equipped to handle more than that. (I’m open to making exceptions, please don’t hesitate to ask me.)

I do allow pets, however there is a 2 pet maximum (with a fee). If you need to bring an additional pet, please message me as there is an extra fee of $25 per pet over the maximum. I ask that you please leash your dogs at all times when outside of the cottage, as we have an abundance of wildlife and domestic animals around us. If I find that this very important rule is not being adhered to, you will be asked to vacate the property and you will not be allowed back. We take the safety of wildlife and our guests very seriously. Please clean up your dogs waste. Please keep them off of the furniture. I know they're your babies and I love that for you...but my southern roots can't imagine a dog on the couch or in the bed. Thank you for understanding! :)

**If you prefer to be quick driving distance to town and don't enjoy the beauty of rural living, this is not the place for you.**

Very nice but
Very nice property. A little difficult to find. Numerous amenities and fresh eggs were provided on arrival. The pots were pretty greasy. Probably because they were stored right next to the trash can. Unacceptable. Also, as a US Marine, I feel obligated to report this next item. The host flies a huge American flag that has been painted black. This can mean many things, none of which are good. Just a word of caution.

This place is worth the money!!
In all our travels, we have never seen a place that took this degree of effort to make sure all of our needs were met, and then some. The comfort of the cabin, to being able to wash and dry our clothes, to the selections of coffee and teas, the popcorn and other snacks that were available from previous renters, to just having that home feeling that made you look for an excuse to stay longer. It was extremely quiet, well insulated, and basically an extremely great place to stay. Our only concern is not being able to stay here next year when we're ready to come back. It's definitely on our list to reserve early so we can return to this place.

Clean, comfy, quiet, cottage
Everything from booking, to check-in, to check-out was easy. Our host was on-time with all communications and our cottage was stocked and ready for our weekend of adventuring. We enjoyed the supplied fresh coffee in the morning as we watched volcanoes over the bay while our pulik puppies played in the yard. Calm and peaceful, the surroundings of our cottage was a nice getaway from traffic and tour buses. Homer is super ckose with quick access to lots of fishing and hiking opportunities even closer.
