Villa Marianna is a unique resort for private and relaxing family vacations, at the authentic region of Apokoronas in Chania prefecture, with uninterrupted view of western Crete landscape.

A modern and spacious villa offering comfortable stay for up to 8  guests, situated in a private property of 2000sqm, surrounded by olive and orange trees in a walking distance from the beautiful village of Vryses.

With numerous spots to relax and calm for adults, villa Marianna is the best choice for big families. The kids will enjoy endless hours of fun at the big pool and the gardens around the villa.

Villa Marianna is a house of modern design with spacious interior, equipped with all amenities so as to have a peace of mind during your stay. Nothing to think other than your precious vacation time.

The main kitchen and living/dining room are on the first floor. Three bedrooms with wooden ceiling and each with its own balcony are on the second floor.

The lovely hostel downstairs with separate entrance from the main house is a fully equipped apartment with a bedroom, living room, bathroom and kitchen offering extra privacy even within the same group of guests.

The one of its kind exterior with a big 50sqm tile covered swimming pool, the amazing barbeque, the waterfalls, the stone colorful creations in the amazing gardens, the backyard of fruit trees, will create you life time memories.

For us success is our guests to have a memorable stay in our villa, become our friends and choose again and again our villa as their favorable vacation resort.

Either from Chania airport or Heraklion airport the access of the villa is quite easy and safe. Vrysses village is a couple of km from the north national road of Crete which directly connects the two airports of Crete.

The village of Vrysses is at walking distance from the villa. Vrysses is the capital and at the heart of Apokoronas region. At the village you can find all the necessary for your stay while the taverns alongside the river offer Cretan tradinional cousine.

The long sandy beaches of Georgioupolis, Kavros, Almyrida and Kalyves are a few minutes away. Water sports, shopping, restaurants and bars offer so many options in all these destinations.

Just 2 km away is the north national road that connects the major cities of Crete, Chania on the left and Heraklion on the right.

Vryses is also the starting point for breathtaking routes to south Crete and Sfakia area through the sierra of White Mountains.

Wonderful villa
A lovely villa with excellent facilities. The downstairs living, dining & kitchen area is very spacious. Kitchen well equipped. The outside areas are vast , including a BBQ area, which we used several times and a pizza oven which we did not try. The swimming pool is lovely, possibly one of the nicest pools we have had. The pool and housekeeping was every few days which was ideal. Any issues were promptly responded to by George and usually sorted out by his wonderful father. Checking in and out was an easy process, we were met both on arrival and departure by George’s father. On arrival there was a bowl of fruit, water in fridge and some Raki! As a parting gift we were given some cheese which I believe was produced by the family. Overall a very relaxing holiday, the villa was just outside the local town which meant we had lots of privacy. There is also a small flat at the base of the house which comes with the villa, ideal for grandparents etc. Local town was a little over 10 minutes walk with cafes, tavernas and super markets. Lots of other tavernas within 15 minute driving range. At some point we will return to Crete and would certainly stay here again.

We have just had a lovely holiday here. The villa is very nice with a special mention for the outside kitchen, with bbq and pizza oven. The pool is beautiful. There is a nice beach suitable for young children only 15 minutes away. George and his father were very helpful and their communications were excellent. I highly recommend this property

Holiday at Villa Miranna
This is a fantastic Villa,spacious, spotless & plenty of room for family & friends to spread out and enjoy the various spaces . Eat by the BBQ, on the Balcony or inside. The Pool has a depth that if you like a swim you can enjoy. George,our host & his team, are friendly,welcoming & couldn’t do enough to make our stay relaxing. Poppy , the Housekeeper visited during our stay to clean & check we had everything we needed, even bringing us some homemade cakes & homegrown vegetables. This Villa is ideally located to go out & explore by car. Whether you want to explore the far west of the island, the Cities & the South of the island all of these are accessible. The local village of Vryses, has two Bakeries, a number of small Supermarkets & Restaurants, therefore plenty close by. Loved our stay, would definitely go back and would thoroughly recommend Villa Miranda to anyone

Absolutely fabulous, from booking to leaving? Villa was amazing, so peaceful and charming, Villa was spotlessly clean, Poppy who came to clean was adorable, even brought my granddaughter a lolly pop which she was delighted with, and made us all a cake which was delicious. We were given some local products and some raki, which again was a nice touch, George the hosts dad was super friendly too, I asked if there was an ice box at the villa for us to take to the beach, and the very next day we had one, nothing was too much trouble. The location was perfect, the villa was completely private and the village restaurants and shops were a 5 minute walk. In the words of my granddaughter “I’m dreaming Nannie “ she was in her element especially in the pool which was probably one of the best pools we have had, we always have villa holidays and this one was one of the best. Thankyou George, Poppy and Georges dad for making our holiday so amazing.

Lovely place
We loved the villa and the surrounding area. We enjoyed the quiet countryside and local village but also only a short drive to the beach. The villa was very comfortable and had everything we needed. The pool was fabulous and we loved the outdoor kitchen area and cooked homemade pizza's in the wood fired oven which was a real treat. Thank you to the hosts who were responsive and helpful to any questions we had.

Fantastic place
Absolutely fantastic is all I can say!!!! The owners were so welcoming and warm. Any issue or query we had was attended to there and then. Any advice we needed they were on hand any time of day! the outside of this villa is stunning! Absolutely perfect location. Near a beach. Near tourist areas but also traditional Crete is right on your doorstep. The local shops bars and taverns on right on hand with the freshest of produce… we were so so sad to leave but left with the best memories and the most relaxed version of ourselves in a while. The outside bbq area was a huge hit with hubby. And the apartment underneath was perfect for the grandparents. They said it was the best holiday they have ever had. This holiday this villa this family this location has a special part in our hearts. Xxx

Fantastic Villa
Me and my family have just returned from our holiday and everything was wonderful. The villa is stunning and absolutely spotless. Located in a lovely village just a short walk away you had the best of both worlds - privacy with the option of walking to some lovely taverns. The local beach is 15 minutes away and is stunning. The hosts went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. Always available if we needed anything and even provided us with a delicious meal for our first evening!! This was our first vist but wont be our last. Thank you so very much.

Magical stay for my father’s 70th birthday
We rented as a group of five adults and one under-2 toddler for my father’s birthday. Lilla and George were incredibly welcoming and helpful from first email contact through our entire stay at the property. The photos are accurate and the property is a lovely space to stay in, about 5-10 minutes’ stroll from Vrysses village centre and 15mins drive or so from Georgiopolis and the nearest beaches. George also arranged for a wonderful home-cooked celebration meal for my Dad to be prepared on one of the nights. The food was lovely, very reasonably priced and it really made our trip special. We look forward to coming back!

A surprise in the Crete countryside
It doesn’t get better than sitting in the evening sunshine surrounded by olive groves & fruit trees, watching the sun setting over the mountains. This property is a tranquil haven away from the tourist areas, a place to truly relax & feel like you’ve got away from it all. It’s only a short drive to a wealth of different beaches to choose from, and shore-lined tavernas & cafe bars. We liked Kalivaki beach & the long stretch of sand by Poseidon Beach bar. But when we wanted a relaxing day at the villa, lounging by the pool, it had everything we needed. We had 6 in our family group & the villa was perfect with ample space. The hosts, George & Lila, were very attentive & helpful, and quick to respond if we needed advice about the local area. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this wonderful villa to others; & I hope to be back again one day in the future.

Fantastic property with plenty of space and a wonderful pool
We had a wonderful week. The property is beautiful with plenty of outside space including balconies to enjoy evening meals on and a brilliant bbq area including a pizza oven. The pool is more than big enough to properly enjoy. The local village is very picturesque and the shops there have everything required for your stay. George & Lila the owners of the villa and were always happy advise, help or assist wherever they could. Also the villa is only 15 mins drive from the beach. I would highly recommend staying here.

Villa Marianna
We had a great holiday at Villa Marianna. The villa has lots of outdoor space and seating areas with a good sized clean pool (which the kids spent most of their time in!) Inside the villa it is very clean with plenty of room for the 6 of us that stayed. The annex was perfect for my mum who travelled with us, as she had her own space yet not too far away to join us whenever she wanted. Lila, George and Poppi were the perfect hosts, always at hand for any queries we had or providing recommendations on local restaurants and things to see/do in the area. Throughout the trip they made sure we were ok and the gifts from Poppi were a nice gesture and were well received 😀. Being central to Chania and Rethymno and close to the main National Road is was easy to visit both of them. The Old Towns in both of these are worth a visit, also travelling to the south of the island over the mountains gives you some stunning views and is recommended. All in all a great villa and holiday even with the implications of Covid going on we were able to relax and have a great time. If we returned to this area we would definitely consider staying here again if available!

Fabulous house with great people
We’ve rented many different villas before, but our stay at villa Marianna was absolutely the best. Especially in this crazy corona pandemic time, it was great to feel safe at Crete and have everything you wish for at the house or in safe nearby stores and Surroudings with almost empty beaches. Besides that we were treated great by the people who run and facilitate this place. We loved receiving unexpected Greek pastries, treats and even herba to bring back home. Thanks and we will be back sometime in the future again!

Villa Marianna our stay 20/09/19--27/09/19
This villa is amazing,and is by far the best in 20 years of taking villa holidays. Villa Marianna is beautiful,the surrounding area is great,with the mountains in the distance,the walk from the villa to the village is no more than 10 minutes The Villa was spotless on arrival,and was fully cleaned again during our stay by the wonderful Poppy,who also brought us some delicious home made treats. If you need a local Taxi,Poppy's husband works for a local company,who we used on a number of occasions. We would also like to thank George,Lila,and George's father for making us feel so welcome,and to George's father for the wonderful local Cretan Cheese given to us on our departure. Our only regret is not staying longer at Villa Marianna. As a family,we can highly recommend a vacation at this Villa,and we will return in the future for another amazing holiday. It's difficult to know where to start as the experience and holiday was fantastic from start to finish. Firstly a huge Thank you to George, Lila , George's parents and the house cleaner Popi. Throughout our stay they were extremely welcoming, bringing us savoury and sweet treats to eat and a bottle of wine from his dad's wine cellar, all very gratefully received. You couldn't ask for better hosts which is the first time we have been treated so well by a villa owner. We were 2 families with 3 children aged 9, 12 and 16. The villa and grounds are superb and so big, the photos do not do it justice!! Every thing was extremely clean and immaculate, the pool was fabulous and we all spent a lot of time in and out of the pool. The adults loved it as much as the kids . There was a lovely waterfall in the gardens which my sister and her 2 girls enjoyed relaxing by at the end of the day to quietly reflect and meditate. There was an orchard which George said we could go and pick fruit from which again we enjoyed. The area around the villa is quiet and peaceful but just a 10 -15 minute walk to a small supermarket, bakery, pharmacy and local taverna's. At night we took a taxi to Georgioupolis and used a company that Popi's husband worked for. They were excellent and always there for us. The weather was very warm but there was also a gentle warm breeze which was very much wekcomed. Everywhere we went the people of Crete were so friendly and welcoming. If you like cocktails you must go to the Cotton club in Georgioupolis , it doesn't look much from the outside but the drinks were fantastic!!!! All in all our stay here has been the best so far. You will not find a better host than George and his family. If you have this Villa on your wishlist I would highly recommend you book ad you will not be disappointed. Thank you so much George and your family, you made our holiday so special and we will definitely return in the future. x

Family holiday at Villa Marianna
A really lovely property. There was plenty of room for the six of us and still loads to spare. We strolled down to the nearby village of Vryses on several occassions, it appears very traditional Greek which made it all the more interesting. However, most of our time was spent at Georgioupoli, a simple 10 minute drive. Perfect beaches and plenty of places to eat and shop. We would recommend both the local towns Chania and Rethimno, neither take much over 30 minutes to reach by car. But the most memorable aspect of the holiday was how we were looked after by the owners George & Lila. So eager to please and clearly genuinely determined to ensure we enjoyed ourselves. George's parents live close by and we were left freshly baked goodies by them AND the lovely cleaner lady ! Highly recommended.

Wonderful Holiday
We have just returned from a truly memorable holiday in Villa Marianna - one of our best ever!! Our group was a family of 7 consisting of me, my husband, our three children (aged 12, 15 and 17) and my husband's parents. We arrived very late in the evening on our first day and were met by Popi who showed us around and made sure we had everything we needed. The villa could not have been more perfect for our holiday and the ground floor apartment was ideal for my in-laws as they were able to have their own private space as well as enjoying the main villa with us. One of the main highlights of our stay was our exceptional hosts. George and his family were so hospitable and attentive and he was always available for any queries that we had. We particularly enjoyed the unexpected and delicious gifts of traditional food made by George's Mum - they all really made us feel so welcome. The villa itself is beautiful, very clean and comfortable with everything we needed for a lovely stay. There are so many different areas around the villa to sit and enjoy whether we wanted to stay in the sun or relax in the shade, We enjoyed cooking in the lovely BBQ area. The pool was perfect, well maintained and we spent lots of time in and around it most days. We went into Chania to do one large food shopping trip and supplemented this with provisions from Vrysses, the local village as needed. Vrysses is small but has some nice cafes and tavernas which we visited a couple of times during our stay. We did hire a car and would recommend doing this although there is a local bus service available from the village. Overall we would give this holiday and the villa a 5* rating - we would definitely recommend it and look forward to returning.

A family who show they really care about the people who stay there. Wonderful villa in a beautiful location.
We visited Villa Marianna in July 2018 as a family of four with two young teenage girls. It is a beautiful, private, spacious villa in a very convenient location if you wish to visit western Crete. We had a very relaxing time & were very well looked after by the owners George & Lila. They always answered texts quickly with helpful information. Set in very well-kept, pretty gardens, the villa has three floors with balconies & seating furniture all around so that you can catch sun/shade at all times of the day. In the ‘backyard’ is a fruit orchard with grapes, strawberries. limes, apples etc. The pool is a good size for families & very clean with a shallow end & a deep end of 1.9m. The temperature of the pool was always perfect for us in July. The bedrooms, like the whole villa, were very clean & comfortable with remote controlled air-con & plenty of wardrobe space. The wi-fi was very good & reliable & was able to cope with all four of us using it in the evenings. The villa is an easy 10 mins walk to the small town of Vryses which has everything you need – mini-markets, tavernas, cafes, restaurants & a KTEL bus station situated in the café next to the La Luna Café (opposite the petrol station). The local Gethyra pizza is good & you can either eat by the river under the shade of the plane trees or order takeaway by phone. The mini-markets have all the supplies you’ll need for the villa including lots of local fresh fruit & meat. We didn’t hire a car for our visit, so we used local taxis to eat in the resort of Georgioupolis in the evenings & the KTEL bus station in Vryses to visit the city of Chania. The local taxis were very reasonable (Traitorakis Taxis) & a 10-15-minute journey from the villa to the nearby resort of Georgioupolis was €10.00. The KTEL buses pick up at the café next to the La Luna Café in Vryses. We had a very quick, cool, hassle free 45-minute trip to Chania by bus for €4.00 per person each way. In nearby Georgioupolis we ate in three different restaurants – all of them excellent, especially for fish. Fanis, ‘Arkadi’ fish tavern & ‘Poseidon’ Seafood Restaurant. Villa Marianna has beautiful views of the white mountains of Lefka Ori (which means white mountains in Greek) & in July the swallows were constant drinkers at the swimming pool. Finally we’d like to thank George’s mother for the freshly baked Kalitsounia cheese pies which we ate on the plane home. Like all the local food in Crete they were delicious! ευχαριστώ

Fantastic holiday in a beautiful setting
Firstly a huge thankyou to George and Lila ,they are the perfect hosts and cant do enough to make sure your stay is a good one, The villa itself is beautiful with a fantastic pool. There are balconies overlooking every aspect of the villa with lovely views over to the mountains, we hired a car, which is probably advisable as the villa is a little bit secluded, its wonderfully peaceful a pleasent break from the hustle and bustle but a 10 minute walk into the small town nearby.where there are a few tavernas serving food ... greek style (not a tourist haven 🙂) The villa is well equipped with everything you need to be comfortable including air con and a jacuzzi bath. There is also a handy, small but well equipped 1 bed room apartment on the ground floor which came in handy with 2 teenagers in our party. There is also free wifi, although it only seems to work upstairs. All in all we couldnt fault this villa and as i said george and lila, georges father and poppy the lady that cleans the villa are all wonderful hosts and we all thankyou for looking after us xx HIGHLY RECCOMMEND!!

Excellent Villa
We have just spent 2 weeks at Villa Marianna. The Villa is excellent- beautifully presented and very clean. The villa is spacious and has a fantastic swimming pool and garden. The BBQ area is great. George and Lila were perfect hosts- not intrusive at all but helping us at any point we needed and giving us good ideas for local restaurants etc. Communication was great right from initially booking the villa. The views from the villa are stunning towards the mountains and watching the sunsets from the balconies was one of our favourite things. The location of the villa gives real privacy but the local village of Vryses is only a 15 minute walk- (as long as it is not too hot!) and has all the amenities you need- supermarket, bakery, tavernas, bank- however to venture further afield and enjoy the area you really need a car. The fourth bedroom in the apartment below ,with separate access, suited us as a family with a teenage son who appreciated his privacy yet was part of the Villa. We loved this amazing Villa x

Exceptional grounds and pool, great service from owners, great location
This is a lovely villa with exceptional outside grounds. There's always an area to sit in outside in sun or shade; there are gardens; and the pool is excellent, well big enough to have a proper swim in and well-kept and lit. We had a few issues (eg. power cut) which the owners responded to immediately. George and Lila run it as a family affair (we were taken to the property by George's father who lives locally) and they were very efficient and accommodating in all respects. The location in Vrysses is also excellent: you can easily reach Chania and Rethymno and the north coast beaches eg. Georgiopoulis; we also drove north to the Akrotiri peninsula; and the villa is also directly on the good road heading to the south coast, so we enjoyed the Imbros gorge walk and snorkelling at Frangokastello (though beware the drive back from Frangokastello to Kallikratis unless you have 4-wheel drive and a good head for heights - the road is very steep and narrow and there are no barriers against a drop down the mountains). We also recommend the wine tasting at Dourakis vineyard, and Lake Kournas (very close). From the villa, you can walk into Vrysses where there are a number of tavernas (10 minute walk). The inside of the villa was spacious and the airconditioning efficient (though not the quietest). Wifi was also decent generally though not available in the downstairs apartment. The kitchen was reasonably but not brilliantly stocked and we had to buy dishwasher tablets, washing powder etc. - it would have been great if those essentials had been provided. There's plenty of space inside to lounge on sofas or eat/play games. The bedrooms are not particularly big and there's no purpose-built shower in the main house (just an attachment over the Jacuzzi bath), so quite difficult not to flood the room! All the bedrooms had shutters so very easy to lie in in the mornings, which we liked. All in all, a very attractive property in a great location, we had a brilliant week.
