Overall, the property was very clean, the beds were comfortable, we had all the amenities we needed, communication with Kira was prompt and clear, and my kids loved the place.
Being in Arnold was great for access to snow parks and the ski resort further up the highway, but the particular neighborhood can be tricky to navigate, and I would have been nervous to drive there if there was snow/ice on the ground (probably true of most cabins in the area, just something to be aware of). The road onto the property and the entrance to the driveway are both a little steep, and the driveway/parking spot are fairly narrow, so also something to be aware of, especially if it's snowy.
Inside, the split HVAC system was tricky to figure out at first, but eventually we were able to get all the rooms to a comfortable temperature. Everything was clean, and the beds were comfortable.
One thing which may not be evident from the listing is that one bedroom, plus the loft futon are upstairs, and both areas split off directly from the top of the steep stairway. We weren't comfortable leaving our kids (3 and 5) alone in either bedroom, since they would have to go up, down, or across the stairs in any configuration if they needed us in the middle of the night. If our kids were older, I don't think this would have been a problem. There was enough room in both bedrooms for one adult and one child, so it worked out okay.
All that being said, we would stay again when the kids are older.
