"Third time staying here and as ever it was fantastic. Requested a room nearer the pub ad my husband has walking difficulties and got our favourite Room 1. Wonderful meal the beef cheeks were excellent. Superb service from every member of staff. Our only criticism which i have fed back directly is we dont like the milk sachets used on the drinks tray in bedroom does not match the standard of the bedroom would prefer fresh milk perhaps in a small flask"

"It is an ideal spot. We went to the races at Newbury. The room was comfortable and clean. The food was excellent. The main issue was staffing, there were simply not enough. Apparently 2 of their bar / restaurant staff called in sick. It was chaos and very slow. Sophie (duty manager) did her best and was excellent, but it was an uphill struggle with the rooms, bar and restaurant all full !! "

"The staff was very friendly but I have to admit the internet even at times when I could connect was so weak, I couldn’t even access my emails. The shower has a power saver machine on it but the problem is the hot water cycles from cold to warm to scalding and around and around so you constantly have to dip under and out.
