Historic Moog Music Farmhouse! 5 mins to DT!

A piece of Asheville history! Former home of Moog Music’s owner, Bob Moog. Musician and music enthusiasts
must-see!

Completely renovated beautiful space, 1 block from UNCA & 5 mins to beautiful downtown Asheville:

Work from home friendly space! Orbi Mesh (fastest modem around) wifi and plenty of space to hook up laptops/work equipment

Entire home with winter views overlooking the city and Sunset Mountain, there sits a classic 1920’s historic farmhouse on over two acres with bountiful gardens.

Newly renovated kitchen and dining room! Nestled just outside city limits, with winter views overlooking the city and Sunset Mountain, there sits the classic 1920’s historic Moog farmhouse on over two acres with bountiful gardens, that has just been completely renovated. Upon entry, you’re greeted with original 100 year old slow-growth Heart Pine wood floors throughout. There are 4 cozy bedrooms each with an old coal-burning fireplace (non-functional) smart tv and a king bed. There is also a queen fold out sectional and full fold out loveseat, allowing for 13 guests to sleep comfortably. Sit and sip your morning coffee or host happy-hour in the enclosed conservatory off the back of the house or the back porch with views of the mountains and city. Other features include: a fully functional kitchen with brand new appliances, a wood-burning stove, a large inviting front porch, and the many gardens on the property bring about history and the joy of mountain living. There are miles of walking trails (with maps) within a 1/4 mile from the front door, botanical gardens within 1/2 mile (with more walking trails), and the Reed Creek paved bike trail into town. Downtown is an easy 1.3 miles away by car, bike, or foot. The location is ideal with space to roam and unbeatable views - Less than 1 mile to the Grove Park Inn, less than 2.5 miles to the Biltmore Estate, and located adjacent (steps) from UNC Asheville campus. There is plenty of on site parking, internet based television, and WiFi (Orbi!!!)

There two quiet (and wonderful) tenants that live in units attached to the home, with no shared space or entrances. They have each lived on the property for over a decade.
One lady is a gardener who helps take care of the grounds. The other gentleman is a local painter who is gone most of the day.

Bach & Bachelorette parties please reach out!! We have a wonderful local contact who guides wonderful private yoga sessions!! It’s a fan favorite and can cater to all skill levels : )

.. we also have children’s amenities such as babysitter recommendations, pack and play’s, etc.. available upon request. Cheers,

Guests can access the entire 4 bedroom (+1 Fold out queen sleeper), 2 bathroom main home

I do not live onsite, but I am available by text, email or phone call. Very happy to give recommendations and even set up events from dinner to outdoor adventures. Thanks!

With upwards of 30 craft breweries (that number is always changing), including the Southeastern headquarters of both Sierra Nevada and New Belgium breweries, Asheville is heaven for beer lovers and connoisseurs.Asheville is also a hotbed of locally owned restaurants, and is often called a “foodie paradise”. The Zagat restaurant guide rated it Number 30 on its list of The 30 Most Exciting Food Cities in America in 2017. There are 700 or so restaurants in the city, with delicacies ranging from Thai to Ethiopian to French to Southern cuisine, and everything in between.

This property is centrally located and less than a 5 minute drive to downtown.

Great Destination!
The Farmhouse was beautiful and we got a lot of use out of the massive and comfortable front porch, watching some summer rain storms. We had a lovely stay!

Family gathering
Loved the space; loved getting some idea of the history of Moog. We walked to the popular Farmer’s Market and there’s good food and custard ice cream within walking distance on Merriman. Biggest forest of paw paw trees in the back! Amazing to see.

Farmhouse
The house was in need of some work..I swept the porch and cleaned off the outside furniture and the top of the porch rail that had marine from other peoples cups etc...I really did not like opening the bathroom cabinets and finding I guess whatever other guests had left in the cabinets. The drain did work in the bathroom sink..we tried to tape up the front of the kitchen sink but that whole cabinet needs some work,,I did not want to put this online but I guess I expected much more for the money. That being said our party was great and the location was very good for us.

Lovely stay
Check-in was easy. The property is in a woodsy area and slightly difficult to locate but it is worth the trouble because it feels secluded and the views are gorgeous with equally lovely walking and running trails nearby. The bedrooms were comfortable and we all slept well. The kitchen was well-stocked with appliances and eating utensils and it was immaculate. It was over 90• while we were there but the front porch was shaded and comfortable and the a/c did an excellent job cooling the house. Not within walking distance of downtown but the drive is an easy 10 minutes. My group of active women aged 40-75 had a great time and would happily stay at the Moog House again.

Great house and location
We had a girls weekend in Asheville and picked this house for the size and location. The location was perfect for everything we did. The house had 4 nice sized bedrooms. The house was very clean. We had a snafu with our arrival instructions but the owner jumped right on it once he realized there was an issue. We will definitely book this home again.

40th Birthday Trip
My friends and I came to town as we all turn 40 in the near future. We had an excellent time exploring Asheville and it was super easy to get everywhere we wanted to from the house. The house itself was great as we had enough room to spread out and space to gather together when we wanted to hang out and enjoy the company. Would book again!

Amazing place to stay
We had a wonderful time staying in the Moog farmhouse. Easy access to all our activities. The beds were super comfortable and we had everything we need. Ben was amazing and very responsive to our inquiries. Our only surprise was there’s a tenant upstairs and downstairs. I probably just missed that on the listing.

Fun Asheville Getaway
We enjoyed our stay in Asheville. The house was comfortable and clean and well located. I missed in the description that there were other tenants in the house, but they were quiet and didn't impact our stay at all. We had a great time visiting with family.

Excellent location to downtown Asheville for brewery hopping, concerts, restaurants. It’s hard to find a house with 4 master bedrooms that’s not super expensive. Only two full baths but we made it work. Great time!

Beautiful property with seclusion but close to everything
My family has a great stay. The property is big and feels secluded. The front porch is also large and is a great place to spend time especially when it rains. The living areas felt spacious enough for our family to spend time together. The kitchen was well appointed and we were easily able to cook large dinners for our family. Quick response from Ben, the property manager, when we ran out of toilet paper. He sent it over via Uber and it arrived in 15 minutes.

Perfect Bike Adventure
The farmhouse was a perfect retreat for Yankees visiting to ride bikes up Mount Mitchell. The bedrooms were all very comfortable and the AC units were fabulous. The wildlife visiting the property was such fun to watch! The turkeys were hilarious hanging out in the trees, and a bear strolled by on the road one morning! The host was an excellent communicator through the process and we all enjoyed our stay very much. Heads up for folks visiting from flat areas--the steep curvy driveway to the farmhouse was daunting the first time down, but you learn pretty quickly how to navigate the terrain.

Bach parties be aware, tenants live under same roof - Amazing property and location
The neighborhood was beautiful and in a great location. Ben was very help and provided prompt answers to any questions and was able to get us into the house early. The only thing that I felt was misleading was in regards to the tenants "living in auxiliary units on premise". I took this to mean they lived in a different structure outside the house we were staying in. This thought was reaffirmed when Ben messaged me the overall rules stating "Please keep in mind there are two tenants in other units at the property". With a farmhouse, its reasonable to assume there are multiple houses on the property. In fact, the tenants live above and below the rental space, which wasn't a major deal, but I wouldn't have booked this house had I had known. This was not an ideal setup for a bachelor party; not that they complained of noise, but just in general. Also stuffing 14 people in this place seems a bit tough. We only had 12 and didn't have enough places for everyone to sleep but again, its a bachelor party and anything can be overcome at a bachelor party. All in all, we did have a great stay in Asheville and very much appreciated the stay at Ben's place.
