Affordable accommodation for a short stay!
Very warm staff, eager to share the good places to visit around the area. Clean room with basic necessities available. Mattress was slightly on the thin side, not too comfy for those with sensitive back or someone with back issues.

Lovely, peaceful capsule hotel w/great staff
Guest House Maruya is beautiful and peaceful, with cozy, comfortable capsule rooms with futons, a lovely common space, a kind staff, and so many amenities. They have delicious free coffee and tea, lightning fast wifi, and give great tips about what to see and do in Atami. Highest recommendations. Bonus: they're right by the beach!

nice friendly place
Me and my boyfriend were only passing through for 1 night on our way to Hakone. I would definitely want to go back and stay longer and explore ATAMI more. The staff was great very accommodating and helpful the guy who checked us in recommended we go visit a 2000 year old tree and the top of the hill at night, we did and it was amazing! The only thing i would say is be prepared for a long wish walk down a hill from the station and if you have bad knees or whatever get a taxi :) Everything was clean and the common space was very relaxed. Also breakfast was yummy and only for 300yen. we want to go back again!

A lot better than what I have expected
This was my first time staying at a capsule style hostel, I got to say it gave me a very good feeling and it's more than just that. I had a feeling like home thanks to Misato from Guest house Maruya who I enjoyed really much chatting with and gave me good directions and recommendation of what was worthy to try eating and sightseeing during my short stay in Atami, The guest room (capsule) was clean and in good condition, got in-room power sockets, hair dryer, towel you can rent for ￥200, washing machine for rental as well, and a open kitchen where you can cook all you want(got plenty of utensils for a chef to open a restaurant there) There is also a bar next to the check in counter, drop by relax and have a drink before you go :-) location is pretty good if you're planning to stay near the beach, just a few minutes walk, make a few turns then you will reach it, if you are planning to walk from Atami station which I did, it takes about 15-20 mins, all the way you will walk downhill. *out of topic* Atami was my transfer point from Hakone to Izu, I wasn't really planning to spend a long time in Atami, I changed my itinerary and spent almost a day here in Atami, pity I did not have time to book for another night. Here I have met people who really enjoyed working and looking after you, I will surely come back next time I visit Atami

Capsule hostel close to the beach
It's a capsule hostel. I stayed in a twin room, which was spacious enough for 2 ppl (tallest being 1.9m) to lie down, but not stand up. Some parts of the hostel still looked under construction, but kitchen/showers/rooms were done. Great location, city centre and close to the beach.

Great atmosphere to stay
The location was perfect to travel in Atami; in neighborhood, there were good local restaurants, onsen places and the beach! You can also get food from convenient stores and supermarkets nearby. The staff were very friendly and could tell you of a lot of place to go if you need traveling tips. You can order breakfast: a set of miso soup and rice on ahead, which tasted great.

朝食について
朝食は茶碗1杯のご飯とみそ汁です。向かいが干物やさんなので、そこでおかずを買うのを勧められます。私の時は強い雨だったので外に出る気がうせてしまい、おかず無しで頂きました。そういうこともあるので、ふりかけを持っていけばよかったなーと思いました。

チェックインが遅くなりメールにて連絡したのですが、すぐに返信が返ってきたので、安心しました。 美味しいコーヒーが飲めましたし、朝のお味噌汁とご飯も美味しかったです。グリルで焼くお魚は格別でした。短い滞在時間でしたがくつろげました。
