Excellent, friendly, charming, contemporary and well-decorated base for explorign the surrounding desert, reservations, and Chaco Canyon. Gorgeous, fun, short trail wanders straight onto the top of the small mesa behind the property, which offers a great view and a wondrous world of eroded sandstone.
Beautiful and tranquil spot with all you need to relax and appreciate your surroundings!

The hogan was so clean and pleasant. The hosts provided everything we needed for a great stay, including a washer and dryer. There is some nice hiking on the property.
We came to the area to see Chaco Canyon and felt the Hogan very much enhanced the experience. It was easy to find, safe, clean, and lovely. Great experience.
We were impressed with the Hogan, it’s furnishings, spaciousness and well equipped kitchen. We wished we could have stayed longer than our quick overnight. Our host was also helpful in finding us a good restaurant in nearby Cuba. Thank you!
A friend and I spent 2 nights in a hogan in Counselor NM. We were there to tour Chaco Canyon, world heritage site. The dark skies were perfect for star gazing and the tour very interesting. Would recommend the trip 100%!
We wanted to visit the Chaco Cultural Center and were excited to find accommodations very near the entrance.
The hogan was perfect! A great deal of effort was used to make everything clean, neat and very livable. Thanks to those responsible.

The hogan was perfect for my adventure in the Chaco Cayon and the Bisti Band lands. Both are very remote locations and are difficult and time consuming to see. Study the pictures of the Hogan and determine for your self and if it is perfect for your adventure into a absolutly unbelievable part of United States.

The Hogan was so beautiful and peaceful. The grounds were unique and easy to walk through with spectacular views. The sunrises and sunsets just expanded the spaciousness of the area. I will cherish the time I had here. It was more than I could have dreamed…
We really enjoyed staying here for two nights on our trip to see Chaco Canyon. The Hogan was clean and comfortable and the hosts were wonderful. We worked through them to get the Navajo fry bread making session on-site and it was wonderful. But the best part was the amazing views, especially at sunrise and sunset. We will stay here again! Note you need to bring everything you'll need. There are no stores or restaurants close by.
We wanted to visit Chaco Canyon but had to be in Albuquerque. This location put us close enough to both to work well for us. The Hogan was very clean, quiet, and comfortable. The bed was a king size bed and very comfortable, it didn't feel like I was sleeping away from home. Everything was very clean and seemed quite new. The area is very quiet and easy to access from 550.
We absolutely adored our time in the hogan! We were only there for an overnight, but it was an extremely memorable experience. The decor and comfort level was unmatched. Lovely grounds. My only regret was that I wasn’t able to climb up to the mesa because a lovely and much needed storm came through. It is a bit remote, so plan ahead for meals. But you will have all the tools you need in the very cute kitchenette! Cell reception and wifi were wonderful. I will never forget our stay - thank you so much!
My wife and I were looking for a place to stay that was close to Chaco Canyon. This part of New Mexico is fairly remote, and services are few and far between. We were so lucky to have found this rental! The location is quiet, peaceful and picturesque. The hogan sits right next to a small mesa with interesting rock formations, which you are able to hike up and enjoy the view.
The hogan has a kitchen and laundry facilities, and enough amenities to prepare meals. Definitely a must - the closest restaurants are over 30 miles away. Groceries are even further, so bring all the food you’re going to need. AC / Heating worked great. Bed was on the softer side but comfortable. Great wifi (Starlink). Highly recommend!
