"Great apartments with the basics you need to prepare meals, dishwasher and washing machine. Extra towels, hygiene and cleaning products was provided. Only thing that was an issue was quality and range of wifi network. Was only available close to entrance. But other than that . Amazing Service provided before our late arrival. Great standard of the apparment and accessories that was provided. Walking distance beautiful Old town of Bilbao, Museums, restaurants etc."

"For anybody thinking that this will be a 'charming' rustic experience - please reconsider! We were unable to stay here - the place was musty and dark with poor cooking facilities and a layout that didnt work for us - the terrace was unusable due to mosquitoes and we couldnt open windows to air it out for same reason. We are used to camping and would prefer a tent to this accommodation. At 200 Euros a night it is hardly BUDGET - and fell well below our expectations. We didnt even last 15 minutes...

"We chose this as a mid spot to access San Sebatian and Bilbao which it was good for. Lots of space but there was no wifi which came as quite a surprise. You really need a car to get anything or go anywhere. The train is right there but very long rides. Lots of windows but had to have all the blinds shut for privacy. Kitchen was missing a few important things but host was quick to help."

"We loved the old school building renovated with an eye for detail and all modern comfort. The location is great, half an hour's walk from the beach. Lekeitio is a pleasant town. A wonderful base to get to know the Basque nature and culture. Anne and Kerman are very hospitable and were always available if necessary. "Our stay at Basoan was amazing. It was a nice central location from which to take day trips into Bilbao or around the region. The hosts were very helpful and generous. The room and surrounding area was very relaxing - just what we wanted after a week of traveling around. If we are ever in the area we will most definitely stay here again."

"The stay at this apartment was very nice. Meeting Jose was helpful with information and the location is in old town which is also nice and charming. All the amenities were there and Jose shared with us all the places to go and being a great host. Everything was explained and he was nice. Location is ideal - everything in walking distance!"

The apartment included everything I needed for a great stay: comfortable bed, warm shower, kitchen supplies, etc. The location is good. About 800 meters from historic buildings, all the bars and restaurants of old town, and the open air market. Bilbao is a nice walkable city, with excellent public transit, so getting to the Guggenheim and other attractions is easy. I walked there so I could admire the scenery...

"Excellent accommodation - the house is well presented and full of character. There is plenty of space and it is well equipped. It is in a small village accessed up a winding mountain road. The area is rural and unspoilt, and popular with hikers and cyclists. The house was an ideal place from which to explore locally and farther afield, including Bilbao and Santander."

"Ideal from our point of view: sparkling clean with all the equipment needed (except for tea mugs). The beds were comfortable and.the shower spacious and with a good water flow. Transmission of the Vuelta and.rugby world cup cut down on the time left to make the most of a well-stocked library. We met our host briefly at the beginning of the stay. "This is a lovely boutique hotel. Friendly helpful staff and readily accessible to both, the old city and the newer city. Best of all, it was a 5 minute walk across a bridge from the our arrival train station. "We spent a week in the newly opened Axel Hotel in Bilbao. Our choice turned out to be perfect in every possible way. The staff in every area is outstanding, friendly, smiling, accommodating from the Reception to kitchen/bar staff, housekeeping. It is hard to name all but wanted to thank Luz for her big smile and attentiveness each morning during breakfast. She picked up on my husband’s birthday and the hotel arranged a birthday greeting and a gift that was left in our room. The breakfast is a treat. The room is spacious and well equipped. The bathroom with rain shower is a delight and separate WC is ideal. The king bed was very comfortable. The location is ideal, as located close to public transport, walkable to nearly everything, and on the river Nervion. Behind the hotel is Abando with the museums and across the bridge is Casco Viejo (old town). A wonderful location. "

"This place is great. Central in old town, close to metro, tram, the cathedral, the Ribeira market, and in a very lively area with restaurants and bars (pinxtos!). I accidentally loaded the Bilbao transit card with too much credit, so I used the tram to go where I would normally walk to (eg the Guggenheim) and I'm thankful the Arriaga tram stop was a 2minute walk from this place. The bldg felt secure, code needed to enter the bldg, the elevator, and the room. The property was very new and clean. Noise insulation was good. Would stay again."
