The space
Come stay with us at Lost Trail Lodge! Overlooking the Middle Branch of the Pere Marquette River, this cabin offers a roomy and comfortable living space. Looking out the large picture windows, guests can enjoy views of the deck, woods, and river. The three large bedrooms are decorated in a vintage camping style. The master bedroom offers a queen bed, and a burgundy and navy canoeing/nautical style. Ever been camping in the Manistee National Forest? Head upstairs and you just might feel like you are there. The upstairs bedroom contains a full bed and a twin bed, along with a comfy chair. The basement bedroom might bring out a sense of adventure in those both young and old with two sets of twin bunks and a twin trundle!
Both bathrooms and the laundry room are accessible to guests staying at the Lodge. Lastly, the expansive deck allows loads of space to relax, watch and listen to the river, and maybe dine under the stars.
Guest access
Guests have access to the entire house, with the exception of the storage closet on the main floor, and a storage room in the basement. All common spaces, bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen and dining room, game room, laundry room, and outdoor spaces are accessible to guests staying at Lost Trail Lodge. The TV has a Roku device for streaming (bring your logins), and there’s a camp guitar hanging in the living room if you’re musically inclined and want to jam 😀.
Additional rules
***Please be aware that there is a steep bank and stairs down to the river. Additionally, the stairs inside the cabin are steeper than normal as well. Please use the handrail.***
Guests:
- Only guests registered in the original reservation are permitted to stay at Lost Trail Lodge.
- If we become aware of additional or different people staying at the cabin, the guest will be assessed a $100 fee for each additional/different person.
- We require that guests verify number of guests and pets before staying.
- Please make sure that all registered guests understand about the steep stairs down to the river.
- Clean up after yourselves please :-) We do not expect that you clean the entire cabin, but put things back where you found them, clean up the garbage inside and out, wash your dishes, and we do ask that you read the Guest Info Book for information on how things work in the cabin and checkout info and procedures. We promise it won't be too painful, and we don't believe in a laundry list of tasks for you to do for check out procedures.
-If guests have any issues at the cabin that are related to maintenance/cleanliness, damages, or anything else that requires our assistance, please notify us within 24 hours, but certainly before check out - we want your stay to be a good experience and we are glad to help!
-Also...Lost Trail Lodge is located in the woods, and on the beautiful Pere Marquette River. It is rustic and we have zero control over an occasional bug that meanders into the Lodge. Please dispose of them, or place them outside, and enjoy the sights and sounds of nature all around you. Sometimes those sights and sounds come from wildlife that live in the area. Anything from squirrels, mice and chipmunks, to snakes, foxes, coyotes, raccoons, porcupines, skunks, deer, and occasionally even a bear (although rare) do live nearby. Please be safe and stay away from the wildlife, and don't leave food out, or wrappings. These insects, birds, fish, mammals, and other creatures are part of what makes Lost Trail Lodge so great.
Pets:
- Service animals or one or two well behaved dogs are welcome at the Lodge. No dog should be left inside the cabin unattended. We have an outdoor kennel available should you need to leave for a couple of hours.
- We expect that you will clean up after your pets both inside and outside if there are messes, accidents, or spills. Notify us as soon as possible if there are big messes, accidents, or spills so that we can offer guidance on cleanup or send someone to assist if needed. Please be aware that additional fees may apply for damages due to pet stains or accidents, so it is to your benefit to let us know.
- Please notify us within 24 hours of any issues, and note that there may be additional charges for damages or extra cleaning that may need to happen.
- Please do not allow pets on the furniture unless needed as part of their service and support work. If they need to be on the furniture, please use one blanket over the course of your stay to cover the furniture.
- Please use the tools and pet waste bags available, to clean up after your dogs in the yard.
- If we become aware of additional or different animals (including cats) brought in by guests, there will be an additional pet fee of $50 requested per day, per animal.
