Best Banff Romantic Hotels

Buffalo Mountain Lodge

3.5 star property
9.0 out of 10, Wonderful, (1181)
"I love this hotel and have been coming here at least once or twice a year since I've lived in Calgary. The only reason why I didn't rate this stay 5-stars is because the lights inside the hot tub were broken when I was there recently. It seems like a trivial thing, but they have such an incredible hot tub... it was a shame that it wasn't lit properly, it made it seem a bit dingy and uninviting this time around. Everything else was great."

Banff Rocky Mountain Resort

3.0 star property
8.0 out of 10, Very good, (1981)
"Older resort with a lot of rustic charm. Real wood burning fireplaces, as many other resorts in the area had only gas fireplaces. Beautiful location just outside the town of Banff. Clean and quiet. Could use some regular maintenance type work in the rooms and pool/hot tubs. But all around comfortable and relaxing stay, that was affordable. The staff we met were all very polite, friendly, and helpful. "

Douglas Fir Resort and Chalets

3.0 star property
8.0 out of 10, Very good, (3210)
"A family oriented hotel. We are a family of five and appreciate the space to have a kitchen and living area. This hotel is affordable. A bit outdated, but if that makes it affordable I don't mind. Unfortunately the regular pool is closed since COVID and never reopened (the pool is not really advertised so that is fair), and during this stay the maintenance of the waterpark got extended which resulted in being closed as well. It was a disappointment for our kids, but we received a discount as...

Banff Caribou Lodge and Spa

3.5 star property
8.6 out of 10, Excellent, (2414)
"Practical and quaint. Loved the local toiletries in the room. Cozy Christmas decorations and warm lodge fireplace offered a warming atmosphere. Staff were very accommodating when we were traveling with our two kiddos and dog. However, staying on the main level would have been a little more ideal when travelling with pets. Hot tub area was a nice touch but was really crowded and the clorine was REALLY strong. Overall it was a nice stay!"

The Juniper Hotel

3.0 star property
8.6 out of 10, Excellent, (1000)
"We have stayed at The Juniper numerous times and understand its early 50s history as the Timberline Hotel situated on much earlier traditional gathering lands on the sunny side of the valley, so it's not modern accommodation. But that is part of its charm. The in-house Bistro is a convenient and welcoming spot to enjoy the dramatic view of Mt. Rundle during breakfast and a pleasant spot to end the day lingering over dinner. On our latest visit we did miss the group seating area in front of the...
