Charmingly situated in the heart of downtown Northeast Harbor and mere minutes from Acadia National Park, this well-appointed suite will provide you with wonderful access to the town's shops and restaurants, as well as Acadia's gorgeous trails and lakes, while still offering the serene seclusion you desire. This suite is one of The Colonel's Suites, located just above Colonel's Restaurant and Bakery in quaint downtown Northeast Harbor on Mount Desert Island. You can easily walk to the harbor if you follow Main Street, Sea Street, and Harbor Drive, with a number of charming shops and restaurants located in the surrounding blocks. Perfect location close to shops, restaurants and the national park. Very clean and easy to access. Located above an amazing restaurant (colonel’s) which we frequented after long days of hiking/ exploring the park. On-site laundry was an added bonus. The kids loved the fresh pastries and the adults loved the coffee from colonel’s before long days at the NP. Would definitely recommend and stay here again. Thanks!

Call in Acadia
We had a wonderful stay here for our first visit to Maine! The Northeast Harbor quiet side of the island was better than I imagined! The property was super clean, which I appreciated. it was a 20min drive to Acadia. Before hiking, we had breakfast downstairs at the Colonel’s Restaurant & Bakery which was delicious! The place has a Keurig coffee maker which was nice, so we picked up some K cups in Bar Harbor. The Nor’Easter Restaurant was less than a 5min walk and we had a delicious dinner!! Would definitely recommend!

Beautiful stay and great location. Having the Bakery, Bar and Restaurant on the street level was very handy after a long day of sight seeing. Having the washer and dryer available on the same floor was also very handy

Great location. Parking is literally in front, need to ignore signs regarding two hour limit. Close to Acadia. Clean, quiet. Would have been nice to have information in room specifically regarding use of electronic lock vs key, and expected clean up after use.

Quiet, roomy suite in a perfect location
We had a fantastic 3-night stay in Unit 3. Northeast Harbor is a charming village away from the Bar Harbor crowds. It’s centrally located to both the main and the west sections of Acadia National Park: about 20 minutes from Hulls Cove Visitor Center and Cadillac Mountain to the east, and about 30 minutes from Bass Harbor Lighthouse to the west. Some of the trailheads are within 3 miles of The Colonels. Communication with the host was excellent. I received texts at the right moments before and at the end of our stay so we knew what to do at checkin and checkout. Be prepared to walk up 21 steps with your suitcases. (I didn’t mind climbing steps on our arrival, but I kinda did when we got home from a tiring hike!)The suite–really, the small apartment–is quite roomy, very very quiet, meticulously clean, and well supplied. You can tell that the hosts really care. There are plenty of linens and extra blankets, and the kitchen has all the basics: keurig coffee maker w/a few pods, microwave, toaster, half height refrigerator, dinnerware for 4, beverageware, coffee mugs, eating utensils, corkscrew, paper towels. Down the hall you’ll find an ice machine, washer, and dryer. I didn’t use the laundry, but I think they had detergent pods available. The machines take 4 quarters each. I like that the restaurant downstairs is open 7 days, unlike many of the restaurants in the area. We only had one opportunity to eat dinner there, but we enjoyed it very much. Highly recommended.

Perfect space for 2 kids
The location is right in the middle of town and a great mid-point for seeing al the Acadia hiking sports. And, it’s near Asticou Inn so you can go there for lunch or dinner. Bar Harbor is too busy for us; it’s packed with people. You go up a flight of stairs and there are a few rooms for rent off the hallway. The laundry is in this hallway and looks to take quarters. The room is spacious enough and open. We had 2 boys (11, 8) on the pullout couch and they said it was comfy. We didn’t find a designated sparking sport but had no trouble finding a spot nearby. We heard no nearby noise and the AC worked great. I liked the dishes and glassware, including the wine glasses and I appreciated the wine opener. The bathroom is up-to-date and the linens are all nice. The donuts at the Colonel were outstanding - we got a few the night before for the early 6:30am departure for the Beehive and we got them the next day when they opened at 8. It was hard to find much food after 7pm on Sundays, so beware of the early closing times. It was a great 2-night stay for us.

Perfect location for visits to Acadia
Stayed at the property for 2 nights. Location was great. We loved having the restaurant/deli below us - we had a great meal the first night we rolled into town! The location was very peaceful and quiet. We had very easy access to Acadia during our stay. Would definitely come back!

Enjoy quiet time on the Island
First time we visited the Island in April. Great to beat the crowds. The property was just as described; Simple but clean and roomy. The King Bed was very comfortable, and the heating system was excellent, including the bathroom, especially important for the chilly April weather. Thanks for the heated floors!

Everything was just as advertised. The only thing I really missed was having an ice machine with the mini fridge. Would book again. Location was perfect for Acadia access to stay away from the Bar Harbor crowd.

Wonderful week!
This was our 3rd trip to Acadia, and the first with no kids. The unit was the perfect size for the two I’d us. It was extreme,h convenient having the restaurant on the first floor. There were several nights we didn’t have the energy to go anywhere. The only issue was that the fire alarm went off three mornings. Only for about 10-15 seconds, but that was long enough! My husband thought it had something to do with the ceiling fan in the living room. We turned it off and didn’t have any more issues. Other than that, everything was perfect. We would definitely stay here again.

Northeast Harbor stay
To start, I'll say that the property itself was very clean and easy to find with parking right out front. Spacious, separate bedroom, small kitchenette, nice bathroom. The issue we had was that there was absolutely NOTHING to do in Northeast Harbor! I thought I had read that there were good restaurant choices....we didn't find that. We were at least looking forward to having breakfast at the Bakery just below our apartment, but they didn't open until 11am!!! There was NOWHERE open for breakfast except the local gas station/market for pre-packaged food. So we forfeited our next night's stay and moved into Bar Harbor where there is activity and food. If you're looking for a sleepy town with nothing to do, then this place will work for you just fine. But it didn't work for us.
