Great For Atv
We picked this place mainly because it was on the atv trails, but it's a really great cabin. Little out of town so private but close enough to just run and grab something if you need it quick. Would stay again for sure!

North Shore getaway
We (two couples) enjoyed our four days immensely, biking, hiking, cooking together, and sitting around a campfire. One of us even used the sauna in summer! This is a great location for whatever you're looking to do on the North Shore.

Perfect location
We loved our stay here! The cabin is very comfortable & clean with the cutest decor. We were able to visit several state parks up and down Hay 61 due to the centralized location of this property. The hosts were so accommodating, we loved it so much that we extended our stay by one night. We will definitely be back in the future!

Cute Quiet Cabin
Nice cabin in the woods, close to lots of North Shore attractions! We had 5 adults and 1 dog and used the trail shack as our home base for a long weekend getaway. Beds were comfortable, kitchen was well stocked, and we were very relaxed and happy during our stay.

Nice cabin but...
Overall, a nice cabin. I think this location is best for cooler months (not July and August) to take advantage of what is there. While there is no central AC, we were able to get back with the 2 window units. HOWEVER, there is a crack (two openings actually) where the window and AC unit interface in the master bedroom. This allowed tons of mosquito and insects to fly in the first night until I was able to plug it up with towels. But overall, still good experience.

Family reunion
My husband and I (in our 70's), our daughter and son in law (in their 40s) and our grandson (10) shared the TrailShack. We were the organizers for a 50 person family reunion in Beaver Bay so we spent A LOT of time away from "the shack" . . . but when we were home it was cozy and fun. Enough space to have your privacy yet good gathering spaces as well. It would have been much easier for us if there had been two or more keyes . . .and I know that you could have them made at Julie's True Value in Silver Bay. Please consider this.

Charming Spacious & Cozy
The log cabin did not disappoint. Attention to every detail from the easy to get to location, every sweet touch from the decor and super clean inside. Kitchen was well equipped and comfy beds had the softest sheets. Plenty of room and nestled right up some gorgeous woods. We felt welcomed and communication was easy and friendly. Looking forward to returning and staying again soon!

Everything from the firepit to the comfort of the beds alwas perfect for this stay! The cabin is such a warm rustic decor yet updated and perfectly clean. Nathan and Collen could not have been better host and went above and beyond in our stay. I very much would suggest this for a stay on the north shore.

Clean and spacious cabin retreat!
My three teens and I spent the Easter weekend here and had the best time. We loved that the property was large enough to hike around and we did several walks up the hill there. We even spotted a coyote one evening and several deer another morning. For being just off of Hwy 61, the property is actually so quiet and peaceful and I loved the peeks of lake you get out of the windows. The house was clean and well appointed. We were very comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed. The location is ideal. Quick drives to the state parks, local parks and so many things to do. We all agreed we want to come back in warmer weather, but the snowy weather offered plenty of adventures too! We visited Split Rock Lighthouse, Tettagouche, and Black Beach all while there. The sauna was an awesome addition that we didn't expect when we first booked, but we used and enjoyed it every day.

Great Location for all Seasons
This property is a great set-up for families, has all the amenities one could need, and the interior layout is super functional. If anyone is doubting only having one bathroom, don't give it another thought, you'll be fine as the current bathroom is large and centrally located. Location couldn't be better for any season or recreation. Book today!

Thanksgiving...and hiking.
The Trailshack allowed us to have a cozy, calm Thanksgiving close to all of our favorite hiking spots. My favorite part was walking through the land, or down West Road to the biking trail, and then on to the Superior Hiking Trail. We were able to make a nice Thanksgiving dinner. I loved waking up to see Superior out the window while drinking coffee. The Trailshack was cozy when the temperature dropped to 17 degrees F. Overall, I think it was a great place to relax while exploring the Great Outdoors on the North Shore.
