The Counting House
We were in Northumberland for 5 days, Belford was an ideal base, a quiet town with a great bus service. The Counting House was really comfortable and I would definitely recommend it.

Lovely, clean property. Great central location for visiting other areas. There was a regular bus service through the village and a co-op. Check before you go to the pubs or hotel for food, they either dont do it, or it's only served on certain days or times. Don't presume their websites are up to date. The chip shop is nice, but very busy.

Firstly, Belford itself is a delight and a perfect base for exploring all of the interesting surrounding areas. The property was so easy to live in, all you could want, an incredibly comfortable bed, and everything in perfect working order. Jacqui (owner) was really welcoming and helpful: all in all, a deserved 5 star review.

Just returned from a week staying at the Counting House and I can not praise it enough. Arrived at the accommodation and Jacque the host had left a basket with lots of goodies in it , tea, coffee, sugar, biscuits, jam, honey and milk in the fridge. Also a lovely touch was fresh flowers on the dining table. Property was spotless and very spacious. It felt like being at home, kitchen had everything you could need. Communication was excellent Lovely pub opposite the house which did excellent meals and staff and customers where very friendly and welcoming.

Everything you need from holiday accommodation, very clean & quite. A garden would have been a plus but the pubs in the village have beer gardens. Ideally situated for everything Northumberland has to offer.

My wife and I stayed at the counting house (No 2) for the Jubilee weekend. The apartment was spotless and we had everything we needed. It was like a home from home. The location was ideal for visiting all the beautiful hotspots along the North East Coast. Belford itself was very nice and you have 3 x pubs to choose from. I would thoroughly recommend this property.

Great location for visiting local Northumberland visitor attractions: 15mins to Holy Island (check tide times) 15-20 mins to Bamburgh Castle, 20-25 mins to Berwick and Alnwick. The property was really well kitted out, all kitchen utensils you could need. Lots of space in all rooms. Very clean and tidy! Used the John Dory chip shop and the Co-op in the village..well stocked! Frequent bus services to local attractions. Beautiful beach and sand dunes at Bamburgh Castle. Would thoroughly recommend this property to anyone considering visiting the NE coastal area. (Nanny Pat wanted to live in the property, must be good! 👌)

The cottage was immaculate and had everything you could possibly need for your stay. Jacqui was extremely helpful and quick when responding to emails. Belford itself is central for visiting the beautiful villages in Northumberland and offers everything you could need for your stay. Two cracking pubs, convenience store and even a chip shop.
