Private Century Home Waterfront Getaway with Acreage

Past wineries, century farms, Marine Museum & artisan shops, an authentic County Century Home experience w/all the modern amenities (excellent WIFI, Smart TV, gorgeous bthrms). Lovingly restored, our 1876 farmhouse Hicks Holme has 275 ft private flat beach, 4 scenic acres, breathtaking lake views from South Bay's highest point. 5 bdrms, 2.5 baths, large country kitchen & gathering spaces, ample room. Huge outdoor deck, spectacular sunsets, walk to winery & Little Bluffs Conservation area.

On the highest point in South Bay spoiling you with unmatched views, our Hicks Holme, featured and pictured in County architectural reviews (see book in dining room), has been lovingly restored and updated to its former glory over the last ten years. Situated on four scenic acres, on 275 feet of private waterfront, this Prince Edward County gem amazes with its history, charm and thoughtful design that still works almost 150 years later.

The current owners, Kristen and Gareth, are the first Owners of the property since the Hicks family who were originally granted the property as Loyalists to the British Crown.

Take your time discovering and exploring the many rooms, two decks, sunporch and find the hidden staircase. Our home and property are perfect for families, a large bunch of friends, or anyone wanting an authentic Prince Edward County getaway. A relaxing retreat, jam-packed itinerary or somewhere inbetween, Hicks Holme’s offers a private, peaceful location that is easily accessible to all the many amenities the County has to share. Read the diary in the dining room that details life on the farm 120 years ago.

We appreciate longer stays during the summer, but understand that doesn't always suit the needs of our guests. If you're interested in a shorter stay, send us a note and we'll happily do our best to make your dates work.

Cheers and enjoy.

6 family members - all ladies - gathering for a getaway
A lovely century home - beautifully furnished - very spacious and well equipped for any kind of cooking, baking etc. Lovely view from the terrace - however we had to walk down another lane to get to the water! We had an issue with wasps upon arrival and water pressure in bathrooms and kitchen. We contacted the actual owners and they contacted their property manager. By the second day of our 3 day stay the toilets, kitchen and shower all had great water pressure. The wasps are an issue and although there was peppermint oil, we could not sit comfortably on the deck because of the wasps when we first arrived - there were many many wasps along the roof line and coming down to the doors and windows at around 4 PM on a warm day in October. It rained for the next 2 days so no more wasp issues ! The owners were very helpful and courteous on the phone !
