Private Cottage by the Lake with Wrap-Around Deck

Newly updated with fresh designer paint (Farrow & Ball), 50” Amazon Fire TV, genuine leather sectional, and contemporary furnishings and decor.

This charming cottage is nestled on several acres among old-growth cedars and majestic maple trees. The privacy aspect makes you feel as though you are removed from civilization, yet it is located just minutes away from every convenience. The house has a wrap-around deck, perfect for outdoor dining and relaxing. The property has a shared sports court for pickleball, basketball, and more. Lake Samish is just across Friday Creek Road.

Public lake access can be found 100 yards north of the house on Friday Creek Road. A double kayak is available for your use (stored down by the dock, paddles in the bathroom closet). We have also added two stand-up paddleboards and a youth kayak to the patio (Summer months only). Feel free to take these down to the lake access point and please return to the porch after each use.

This two-bedroom, one-bath home also offers a sleeping loft with 3 twin beds, perfect for children 5 and over. For infants and toddlers, we have a Pack-n-Play portable crib stored in the closet. The large bedroom has a king-size Sleep Number bed. The second bedroom has a queen-size bed and access to the sleeping loft. Both bedrooms have French doors that open to the wrap-around deck.

The living area is fashioned in the "great room" style with a comfortable sitting area, an equipped kitchen, and a dining table with seating for up to 7 people. Direct access to the deck makes for easy barbecuing and outdoor entertaining. The house is equipped with a 50" television and high-speed internet for anyone feeling the need to stay connected.

Lovely Family Reunion Stay
Our UK based family stayed at this property with other family staying at the lakeside house across the street. This made for a perfect reunion location with local family providing access to the lake and pickleball amenities. The owners were extremely responsive and accommodating to our needs. We will certainly consider this location in the future if we gather again in the Bellingham area.

Best vacation ever
This property is a gem. Its the perfect balance of tranquility and fun. We made good use of the sports court, paddle board, and kayak. The kids loved the loft. The house is well supplied with everything we need, and it so clean and updated. The hosts gave a quick check in message to make sure we had everything we needed. This shot to the top of the list of our favorite vacation rentals.

Perfect Winter Cottage
The cottage was just perfect! The house had everything we needed to prepare large meals for my group of 7. The house was absolutely adorable inside and had great heating for the 7 degree temperatures this weekend. The heated bathroom floors were a huge plus! The owners were very kind and helpful as well. I will definitely consider staying here again in the future!

Cabin for the skiers and nonskiers
We needed a cozy place that could act as base camp for family members skiing at Mount Baker, and a nice place to hang out for the non-skiers. The cottage is well-stocked, has amazing grounds, and is a short hop to farms around Bow Edison and Chuckanut drive. Great spot!

Cottage Winter Wonderland
This cottage was a great place to spend a few nights. We even got snow one night! It was so fun! It met all our needs and then some. The property was beautiful and private, the house was cozy and warm, and the overall stay was exactly what we needed! The owners were great and checked in with us to make sure our needs were met and check in/check out was a breeze! Definitely going to keep this place in mind when we’re back in the area again in the future!

Great getaway destination - next to a peaceful lake
The cabin was pretty great…very comfortable and cozy on the inside. The outdoor sports court was a huge hit with our boys and we enjoyed many fun hours of basketball. The only detractor that I would note is that the patio chairs and seating are not usable in their current state, they need a solid pressure washing as there is a layer of winter moss on them. Outside of this, we had a great time and we would stay again.

Beautiful location, fun activities
We were visiting our two adult kids who live in Bellingham, and they stayed with us at this vacation home. We had such a fun time playing pickleball (even when it rained!) and basketball. The lake was calm and quiet and we enjoyed taking the kayak out. Sitting on the dock watching the sunset was another highlight. Fire pit looks great with lush green around and many chairs. Beautiful old growth cedars on the property and flowering shrubs should burst with color soon!

Lake Retreat
Carlee and Mark were wonderful hosts during our stay in their lake cabin home. The home is clean, well stocked with kitchen equipment and games to play. Access to the lake is across the street with available lake toys which were terrific. The natural landscape with beautiful old cedar trees was a special treat to wake up to every morning. Didn’t want to leave…
We took a chance on this property while we dropped our daughter off for her freshman year at Western Washington University. We could not have been more pleased. The house is comfortable, cozy and was equipped with everything we needed. The lake is close by (and the lake is beautiful)! The drive to Bellingham is just a short 15 minutes away. We could not have been more pleased with our choice of properties. We spent our evenings relaxing on the patio and taking in the beauty around us. We didn’t want to come home. We are already looking at next years schedule…

High standard bespoke rustic cottage you wont find elsewhere!
We stayed in this beautiful lodge for two weeks while visiting family who live nearby. The location is very central and just off the I-5. The land that it is situated on is amazing. You are surrounded by flowers, trees and wildlife. We stayed here as a family of six from the UK. My husband, father-in-law and our three children ages 10, 6 and 2. Two of our children have specialist needs. The highlight of this cottage for us was definitely the tennis/basket ball court, garden and fire pit. The children thrive from the outdoors and here they could enjoy it all but we were reassured by the safety and comfort that the grounds provided. The facilities here were fantastic. The washer and dryer were a godsend. The rooms are spacious, well decorated and clean. Theres a beautiful rustic theme throughout. The fire place warmed up the whole cottage on chilly evenings and the furniture was comfy and cosy. Theres an abundance of blankets, spare bedding, clean towels and everything you need to to enjoy a wonderful holiday. The bathroom is huge with a heated floor and high powered shower. The kitchen has a huge fridge/freezer, dishwasher, coffee machine, huge oven and microwave. There is decking surrounding the whole cottage, with additional dinning areas outside. The owner was kind enough to grant us permission to have family over and enjoy meals together. We used the BBQ a lot! The cottage also has it's own private jetty on Lake Samish just 1 minutes walk away. This was another highlight, especially due to being able to use the owners double kayak. We all had great fun paddling the lake. The lake is calm and quiet with plenty of interesting wildlife. Neighbours are friendly and enjoyable to talk to. Overall this place is an absolute gem. We simply didn't want to leave. We would 100% stay again and would recommend it to anyone, especially those with children. High quality, high standard, fantastic location and brilliant value for money.

Perfect home for a Bellingham Getaway!
We stayed here for a week as we moved our daughter into the dorms at WWU. It was just a short 15 min drive to the campus. The home had everything we needed & more. The decor is very nice & comfortable. We all even watched a movie one night & just felt at home. Also the master bed is amazing… Very comfortable! We hope to stay here again on a future visit!

Summer Getaway
Our family of 4 had a wonderful stay. It was a great size for us and the kids loved the sports court...I loved relaxing on the deck! We spent one day out on the lake with the provided paddleboard and kayak and had a wonderful day. We would definitely stay here again!

Woodland Retreat By the Lake
We loved this little cabin, especially the pickle ball court (shared with rental next door) and the closeness the Bellingham and local lakes. We used the paddle boards and kayak available and enjoyed chilling in the cabin too.
