Holidays in the monument combines heritage preservation and tourism. Historically valuable Bauzeugen be taken, gently renovated and rented as apartments. The model allows a double win: The monuments received a new future and the holiday guests experience a stay in an exceptional building. The idea is realized by the foundation Ferien im Baudenkmal (FiB), which was founded in 2005 by the Swiss Homeland Security.
Parking: The public car park is about 20m from the house (below the hamlet next to the road). The parking is free and not covered. The driveway directly in front of the house is not guaranteed.
Public transport: By cable car from Fürgangen-Bellwald valley station to Bellwald. It can be arranged for the luggage a transport. The hamlet Eggen is about 25 minutes walk distance.
Number of persons 4: There is a cot (up to 2 years) available. The house sleeps four guests (plus baby). The house will be entered directly into the kitchen. From the kitchen, it goes directly into the beautiful and cozy dining room. Also from the kitchen is in the shower / WC. A very steep staircase leads to the upper floor. There are two rooms, one with Doppelbeltt and one with two single beds. The floors are made of stone and wood and we recommend good slippers. The hamlet Eggen is picturesquely embedded in green meadows or snow-covered slopes. Around the house there are various places where you can stay.
Garden: In addition to the kitchen is a small patio available.

HUBERHAUS - traditional alpine knitting with charm
History & Information
The Huberhaus is a typical alpine block building from the 16th century. Century. Since 1930, the house was empty. In 2006 it was taken over by the holiday monument. The renovation of the Huber house was made extremely cautious. The ceiling height in the room is still, for example, 1. 88 meters.
The northern, more recent part of the Huber house was removed and created a new cultivation of wood within the same structure. In the ground floor is a new bathroom, it is a second bedroom. Old wooden beams, low ceilings, a steep wooden staircase and the soapstone stove remember the often arduous life of mountain farmers. Complemented by contemporary furniture and the new kitchen and sanitary facilities, this results in a fascinating mixture of old and new.

The renovation of the Huber house was made extremely cautious. Wherever possible, the existing building has been preserved and repaired. For example, the ceiling height in the room is still at 1. 88 meters. Likewise, still adorn the old double windows, the south facade, but supplemented with underlying, new windows with double glazing. The floor in the room was left as it was.

IMPORTANT SUPPLEMENT
The Huberhaus a monument that has been renovated with great respect for the existing substance. The tenant is aware of and meets the object with care. Furthermore, although technologically equipped contemporary, do not comply with certain functional details now common standards and pose a possible safety hazard.
