Will keep it short, Failure of communication between Vrbo & the Host. Both blamed one another but basically the property was double booked and we didn’t have a place to stay. 20 hour drive and found all this out with 4 hours to go! I had to call host because I never got any info the day of stay so I reached out for keys and instructions. Host tells me who are you? I had to call Vrbo and then the fun started.
Vrbo put us in a hotel for two nights and we paid for the other two nights, yes we were out a lot of money for the trip even though I had a confirmation and a paid in full receipt for the property??!
Vrbo ask me to send them hotel receipts, copy of my Drivers License and copy of my credit card invoice showing the hotel cost actually got paid by my Credit Card and they will make a decision on how much to pay me back?. Took me forever to get this all together and get an email address from them so I know who to send this all to.! Yes my patience is thin at this point.
Good news, Vrbo did refund me my money for the property and they got us a hotel room. (Don’t stay at LaQuinta Temple Texas!!!) Hotel was disgusting, filthy, old, small and just not what we had planned.
Plus the moving out of the hotel to another hotel isn’t fun then finding out I had to pay and send all this paperwork in to “maybe” get paid back is crazy.
We book properties because we don’t like Hotels, this was just a nightmare for me & my family.
Things happen, Vrbo did try to help, will give them that but this is just unacceptable. I won’t be using Vrbo service in the future and my recommendation to you is the same.
