Loved this place! We biked the Kal-Haven trail and although with a bigger budget we would have stayed in town, this place was a pretty quick ride into town so budget friendly and convenient. Although you need to ride 8-10 minutes to get to town, we were able to buy cold drinks at the front desk and order pizza to our room so we didn't have to ride to town after dark. Our room heat wasn't turned on,but the maintenance person arrived with 15 minutes to turn it on.
Room was clean and bright and the property was nice to walk around. There was a swing at the pond that was nice for sunset and a walking path through the woods for a nice stroll. We even went into the walking path to see the northern lights (blocked out the too bright lights around the property).
It looks like you can rent this place for a wedding or family reunion. It would be perfect!
I'm sure it's crowded and loud in the summertime, but if you're a family with kids it would be a blast. The pool looked clean and there were loads of tables to picnic, lawn games, fire pits, etc. Close to town and beach. Definitely ridable on our bikes, but not walkable.
South Haven is definitely a summer town, but very pretty in the fall. Lots of stuff was already closed for the season, but plenty to do. The Michigan maritime museum is worth the visit and they have a little river cruise you can book. We wish we would have done it. The river is really lovely!
Overall, highly recommend!
