Our Alaska Dogstead is home to champion sled dog musher, Nic Petit, and his team of enthusiastic Alaskan huskies. Stay in our luxurious Eureka yurt while you enjoy the serenity of rustic backcountry Alaska.
- Take a hike down to Fish Creek on private trails through the woods.
- Experience the amazing power and energy of sled dogs, first-hand during a kennel tour.
- Gaze at Alaska's vibrant sunsets or (if you're lucky) catch a glimpse of the Aurora from the warmth of your bed.
The space
With a fully stocked kitchenette, running water, electricity, 1/2 bathroom, wood stove, and Toyo gas heater, this yurt could hardly be considered glamping.
Sleeping arrangements: We have a custom-built bunk bed and separate queen bed that will sleep the whole crew. Host provides all linens, blankets, and pillows.
Bathroom: There is a sink and toilet in the yurt. While there is NO shower onsite, Bob's Mini Market is minutes away with full-service laundry and showers available. Host does provide towels.
Kitchenette: Including pots, pans, microwave, toaster, stove, sink, dishes, coffee pot, and more. We have everything you need to prep a meal, whether you're cooking instant oatmeal or a Michelin star-worthy salmon dish... We just don't have an oven. Host provides basic spices, coffee, and tea.
Guest access
You will have access to the entire yurt and onsite parking space. There are picnic tables and firepit shared with guests from the other 2 yurts on the property.
As this is a professional sled dog racing kennel, we do ask that you book a tour if you are interested in visiting with the dogs. Walking around the kennel portion of the dogstead without a guide is prohibited.
