Big Sky Resort founder and visionary Chet Huntley picked this location for the first housing in the area. It was the early 1970s, and there was nothing here but true grit cowboys, sagebrush and perfect Lone Peak views. The original spirit of Big Sky lives on in this cozy little condo. Retire at this vintage retreat after a day of skiing Big Sky Resort or exploring Yellowstone National Park. The home is humble with a classic Montana charm. Start a fire in the wood-burning stove!
We believe the location of this Airbnb is the best anywhere in Big Sky. Its style will take you into a vintage western escape with modern touches. This exact spot was the groundbreaking location for the first housing by Big Sky Resort's founder Chet Huntley in the 1970s and the heritage of the early 70s lives on in this little Bungalow. Our favorite winter amenity is the classic wood-burning stove that is waiting for you to start a crackling fire!
You'll have access to a backyard overlooking the North Fork creek where Moose often frequent. The Bungalow's deck showcases unparalleled views of Lone Peak from Big Sky's Meadow Village. If your body is sore, enjoy a soak in the silver bow complexes hot tub, there is also guest laundry access in this building. There is a picnic table, grill, and hammock to lounge in after a satisfying day of golf or skiing.
In the winter, the homestead is only ten steps away from Lone Mountain Ranches' impeccable lower cross-country ski trails. If your fancy is lift-accessed skiing at Big Sky Resort, the free public transit stop to the resort is a quick 5-minute walk from the condo or a 15-minute drive up the mountain. For summer guests, we are a stone's throw away from the Big Sky Golf Course Clubhouse and Bunker Bar and Grill where you can grab a delicious lunch.
Also Note: This is part of a condo complex, I don't highlight this in the description because I promise you will feel like you're in a little cabin. It is that quiet here. The yard is big, and the views are expansive! See what all the fuss is about at Big Sky's number one Airbnb!
NOTE: THE SECOND BEDROOM IS IN A LOFT ACCESSED BY A LADDER. THIS IS THE ONLY ACCESS TO THE LOFT SLEEPING AREA.
The loft is accessed by a ladder with a new King Casper mattress. The den has a folding futon that will sleep one or two people as well. The master bedroom has a comfy Casper Mattress and queen-sized bed. The only bathroom is accessed through this room.
Repeat: THERE IS ONLY ONE BATHROOM AND IT IS INCOVENIENTLY LOCATED THROUGH THE MASTER BEDROOM.

Shared Hot Tub / Outdoor Pool (summer only)
Conveniently close to the grocery store, gym , restaurants, and bars

The ability to have an amazing time!
As cell service in Montana can sometimes be spotty, we encourage guests to use the Airbnb messaging platform for all non-emergency inquiries as we have multiple people monitoring the portal who typically respond within minutes. We are available via phone for situations requiring immediate attention.
Nestled amongst the Silverbow complex, my favorite neighborhood in Big Sky, the bungalow sits in a quiet yet friendly spot. Many of the people who call this complex home are retired.
Convenience would define this place when it comes to getting around. It is a couple blocks from the grocery store and Lone Peak Brewery. A short walk from the Town Center and 15 minutes from the slopes of the "Biggest Skiing in America."
Activities out the back door:
Stones throw from the Big Sky Golf Course and Bunker Bar & Grill
Running
Mountain Biking
Activities 5-10 minutes away:
Horseback riding with Lone Mountain Ranch
Horseback riding with Jake's Horses
White Water Rafting with Geyser White Water
Fly Fishing on the Gallatin River
15 minutes:
Big Sky Resort (Ski/ Zip Lines / Challenge Course / Mountain Biking)
Horseback riding at 320 Guest Ranch
The Big Sky Meadow Village is also a great base camp for accessing Yellowstone National Park. The main entrance through West Yellowstone, Montana is 45 minutes to 1 hour drive down the scenic Gallatin Canyon.
There is no assigned parking in the lot.
Taking out the trash is appreciated, there is a dumpster in the parking lot opposite the house.
If you don't mind replenishing the kindling for the wood-burning stove if you make a fire it is greatly appreciated.
Please respect the quiet neighborhood of the Silverbow complex and don't be afraid to say hello to the neighbors. Most of all enjoy your stay-
