We were driving into Bilbao, a very busy crowded city, and were surprised to find out that this hotel does not have an unloading area. We had to unload so we stopped in front anyway and got a ticket from a policeman! I should have researched it better! At least there was an underground garage nearby about 25 euros per day. Besides the car issue the hotel is in a good location but if your room is facing the street like ours was be prepared for the loud noise outside!! I would only recommend this hotel if you don’t have a car and if you don’t mind the noise and ‘busyness’ of the area.

Great little hotel in a perfect old town location.
We stayed here twice in a trip round the Basque region. The welcome was lovely. The location is absolutely perfect, right by the transport and right by the old town. Our room was spacious with a view over the park. Lovely big windows. I would definitely stay here again.

The hotel is in a great location for exploring the city. Literally on the doorstep of the old town and within 5 minutes walk of the cathedral, pintxos bars and the main market. Cross the river and you are in the new town. The Guggenheim is 20 minutes walk along the river . The reception staff were very helpful and the breakfast lady very pleasant. Breakfast was generally a cold buffet , the usual fruit, croissant and rolls with fillings and some hot Spanish omelette and bacon. Coffee machine was good and useable in the day. The room was clean and tidy with a comfortable bed and a defect shower, contained in a small cubicle. We were at the front of the hotel and it’s fairly noisy , at times in the night, with some locals appearing to want to party in the park opposite around 03.00 one night and then the waste collection at 05.30. Just needed to close the doors and put the air conditioning on instead. But in general a lovely hotel in a great spot for exploring.
