From the humble beginnings of a home brewery to a thriving year-round taproom with seasonal beers, Birdsong Brewing has built its place in the heart of Charlotte’s community. Visit the charming patio and rooftop terrace, which create an idyllic spot to sample a flight or two. Purchase one of the brewery’s original four-packs and sip beer on the raised terrace.
Take in the enchanting views of the adjacent lawn and trees, swaying in the breeze on a sunny autumn day. Test and compare the bottles and cans with your friends, picking up several of the wide-ranging beers available. These include Higher Ground IPA, Rewind Lager and Lazy Bird Brown Ale. Try the Jalapeño Pale Ale and Paradise City IPA. You’ll also find a choice of sour ales and sweeter concoctions, made of flavors such as pineapple, strawberry and passion fruit.
Sit at the indoor tables and admire the exposed redbrick design that gives the brewery a retro ambiance. Limited and specialty beers are noted on the chalkboard. As a souvenir to remember the experience, buy a T-shirt, dog bandanna or growler bottle with the Birdsong Brewing logo. Send a request in advance for a tour of the brewery and a look behind the scenes. Purchase your favorite flavors in growlers to take home.
The taproom opens Tuesday through Friday from late afternoon until evening. On weekends, it opens its doors in the late morning. On your visit note how the brewery uses solar panels for its power needs in an effort to be more environmentally friendly.
