"The beds were extremely uncomfortable, we could feel the springs of the mattress. The pillow wasn’t much better, very high and hard. One TV was stuck in the corridor which was furnished as a living room. The only basin in the bathroom was miniature and was impossible to wash 2 hands at a time let alone brush your teeth. No basic condiments in the kitchen: no tea, sugar or salt. "

What is a historic hotel like in Birgu?
Historic hotels give guests the opportunity to stay in a place that's been recognised with an official historic designation. Historic hotels throughout the world can take the form of castles, stately homes, palaces or even pubs, lodges, old police stations or skyscrapers — any building that's been identified as being of special interest. These types of hotels in Birgu usually retain original characteristics such as period features or traditional architecture in guestrooms or communal spaces.
What is the difference between a historic hotel and a heritage hotel?
They are quite similar. The term "historic hotel" is more common in the U.S., while you'll often hear "heritage hotel" in Asia and Europe. Historic hotels tend to focus on the physical building and architecture. Heritage hotels draw their meaning mainly from the cultural value that the place has and how it inspired the surrounding community.
Do historic hotels in Birgu have modern facilities?
Yes. Every effort is made to preserve treasured traditions and historic facades, but interiors include modern conveniences and safety features. Guests should expect the popular amenities you'd find in a hotel such as Smart TVs, WiFi and updated bathroom facilities. In Birgu, booking a historic hotel doesn't mean you will stay in a place that's uncomfortable for guests or rundown.
