Old is Right

I'm not sure about the 70's decor, but I do know the toilet paper plugging hole in bathroom ceiling and the stains on coffee pot from last guest was a real turn off.

Old and never remodeled

1990's motel, never remodelled. Looks like original carpets and flooring. Pink tub for shower only (too small). Old chair looked like it hasn't been cleaned in years. The first room we were given stunk of cigarette smoke; even though it said it was non-smoking. We immediately went to the office to report it; the clerk looked baffled but did give us a new room, and crossed his fingers. My guess is they don't check up on the rooms or discuss anything with the cleaning staff. The second room did not smell of smoke; we opened the windows to let air in. It wasn't the greatest but it didn't have any bed bugs either. Won't be going there again.

the room was clean and tidy. The gentleman at the desk was helpful. the motel was close to shopping area.

OK Second Experience

Two years ago we were in a separate unit overlooking the lake and had an excellent stay. This time we were in a first floor unit at the back of the main building (overlooking the river) which was a long haul for moving our stuff. The room was very dark, the beds were okay except for a frame on the base which tended to stick out from the base and damage shins.

just very bad. Bad room, very bad mattress, very small, bright light near door was on all night lightning up the room and no possibility to switch it of.

Overall Experience

We had stayed in some very poor motels for the previous two nights. This motel, although barely a two star motel, received a little higher rating because we had been so disgusted for the past two nights. The towels are barely more than paper thin. The motel had a lingering smell of being a smoking room at one time. The surroundings were very pleasing, with a river at our front door and the sound of a waterfall. It was clean and made for a restful night.

Great location, but not as good as it looked

The location was lovely - right on the water & within walking distance to restaurants but a railway track ran right in front of the hotel. The room had very comfortable beds & newer looking furniture & flooring, but the walls were stained & dirty, mini blinds were coated with dirt, the shower curtain should have been in the trash & there were no blackout curtains on the window.
