Owl Point - Waterfront Maine

Welcome to Owl Point. Enjoy our more than 10 acres of serene waterfront in mid-coast Maine. Walk the shoreline paths or sit by the fire before dining outside on one of the porches overlooking the water. The house is secluded and peaceful, but 5 minutes from all you could need or want in the the town of Blue Hill. Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor, and Deer Isle are all a short drive away.
Owl Point can comfortably host a couple or a party of eight, with 5 true bedrooms and multiple living spaces. Each room has its own personality and connection to the outdoors. The main living room, with its stone fireplace, is a cozy place for two people to enjoy the fire and read or a great space to host a gathering and chat with friends. Have a picnic on one of the points or launch a kayak and swim off the other. Play badminton, bocce, or croquet on the lawn or sit on the porch and watch the birds swoop through the meadows.

Comfort, style, and serenity in Blue Hill
Stayed in this very comfortable home with two other couples on a trip to view the fall leaves. We have all traveled together several times in the past and this was a wonderful place to relax and enjoy each other’s company. We cooked two fabulous dinners utilizing the well-appointed kitchen and the outdoor grill, and enjoyed a lazy breakfast together one morning. We chose this rental because it was on the water and had a minimum of 3 full bathrooms. We were at a point in our trip when we needed to do some wash and the spacious laundry room made that chore a breeze. It was fairly rainy during our stay but we did have an opportunity to stroll the grounds and walk down to the water. We also enjoyed a roaring fire one evening with our cocktails. All the rooms and beds were very comfortable and clean, the decor fun and stylish. There was a lot of cozy seating in the various shared spaces, as well plenty of parking as we came in separate cars.

Beautiful Property
We had a wonderful time at Owl Point celebrating the holiday with our family. The view is great and the layout of the home was perfect for us. There was some foot traffic on the property that we did not expect. Otherwise, we had a wonderful time and we’re lucky the property had a generator to keep power during a storm. We would stay here again!

Just as advertised
Large home with plenty of space inside and out to roam. Comfortable beds and large kitchen with everything needed to prepare a great meal including a commercial stove. We found a hideaway wet bar in the wall too that we put to decent use. A great layout for family to gather.

Beautiful home for a relaxing stay
Absolutely loved our stay. We had a party of 8 for a 3 night stay. The house was perfect! We enjoyed the large waterfront property with amazing views and sitting by the fire. The kitchen was amazing. Perfect for cooking meals for a large group like ours. Lucy was so helpful. Great host. Strongly suggest booking this home for a vacation or weekend getaway.

One of a Kind
My family and I had a wonderful stay at Owl Point! The location of this home is just dreamy…so private, right on the water. There are beautiful views everywhere you look. On clear nights, we saw great stars. The area of Blue Hill is very convenient with grocery stores, gas stations, restaurants, and other fun hikes. We were about an hour from Acadia, but it was still a great drive through Ellsworth with other pretty vistas along the way. The home itself was fabulous, one of the most unique I’ve ever stayed in…we enjoyed the huge fireplace every night, the furnishings were exquisite, and everything was so comfortable down to the last details. Lucy was great to work with, very communicative and responsive to any questions. There was even one TINY little maintenance issue that came up (a total fluke) and she was quick to provide solutions and check in after everything was resolved. My family and I would highly recommend this home without hesitation, and we hope to visit again someday!

Lovely Family Vacation
We had our family vacation at this lovely home; it easily accommodated our 4 generations of family! Being a one level home (with the exception of the apartment) made it easy for the 90 year old great grandmother. The house has everything you could need if you don’t want to leave; from a beautiful view, games, cookware, amazing fireplace and more! This was one of the best VRBO’s I have stayed at. The house felt like home shortly after arriving. There has clearly been a lot of through put into this home; all of the details are spectacular! We hope to return some day! Blue Hills recommendations: The Blue Hill Coop and the Trade wins grocery store had everything you could need. Sandy’s was great for lunch. Humblebee Café had AMAZING breakfast sandwiches. Recommendations to future renters: None of the bedrooms have fans and there was only one portable fan in the house. If you need/like one to sleep, definitely pack one!

When can we come back?
My husband and I had the pleasure of staying in Blue Hill with two other couples and we all had an amazing time! The home is gorgeous with lots of funky and unique elements. The house was clean and stocked with endless kitchen supplies, games, and music. Oh and the most beautiful view! If we weren’t exploring Blue Hill (which was amazing by the way) or hiking at Acadia, we were planted in front of the massive fire reading, drinking tea, and listening to the record player. We also rented kayaks from the Activity Shop which was really fantastic, we would all highly recommend doing this. We saw starfish, massive jellyfish, gorgeous birds and even a seal one day while kayaking! Our only minor complaint would be that the AC was really temperamental and we couldn’t get any of the fans to work, but within a couple hours of opening the windows everything cooled off nicely. Thank you so much for creating such a fun space and allowing us to experience it, we would all happily return!

Great property, access to the water for such great kayaking made this spectacular. The décor was really such a wonderful addition and overall great space. The property itself was wonderful and stars in Maine never fail to dazzle each night. Great getaway and hope to do it again next fall!

magical place
We almost exclusively use rental properties when we travel. Owl Point Maine was without a doubt the most amazing property we have rented in the US. We have grown respect and admiration for the owners just by being in their home. Where should I start - the view, the yard, the comfort of the furniture, the kitchen and the appliances, the puzzles/games, the entire setup of the house and the attention to detail all left us in awe. Our son was delighted with the 1000 piece Furry Friends Holiday Farm puzzle and did it almost by himself on the living room table. We had daily backgammon tournaments. With access to the Salt Pond right on the property, we rented a tandem kayak and went on the water. Cooking/baking was a joy with the Viking Professional Range. We had brought a kite with us and the afternoons in the backyard always had perfect wind for flying it. The property is in Blue Hill, which is a very nice town with good dining options, though due to the pandemic we mostly stayed in. The Blue Hill Co-op down the Salt Pond Road has great choice for groceries and fresh produce. We definitely recommend Barncastle Hotel’s Restaurant and Bar, we tried their pizza and it was delicious. As far as lobster is concerned, our favorite place was Perry’s Lobster Shack in Surry, about a 30 minute pleasant drive from the property. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and plan to be back. We can imagine fall/winter would also be breathtaking here!
