"Lovely spot, spectacular views. A-frame cabins a bit old. Cooktop was great convenience and destined soon for a museum. Beds were hard. Toilet out back looking old and broken. Not one deck chair at pool. Rough concrete edge my son didn’t like. Ok for an overnight. "

"We loved this location, a few minutes' walk to the wonderful Makarora river braidplain. The house is unique: rustic and a little run down. Comfortable enough if you aren't expecting luxury. Some things could use a little updating (i.e. floors and bath fittings) but all this is secondary to the stunning landscape. We enjoyed our 10 days exploring the area--be sure to check out The Craypot fish and chippie at the end of the road over Haast Pass and the Wilkin Jet Boat tours."
