Beautiful cottage
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend The Shippen. It's a beautiful property in a lovely part of Cornwall, and we thoroughly enjoyed our week. It is lovely and clean and comfortable, and larger than I expected. I was impressed with the thought that had been given to the needs of the holidaymaker. The house has everything you could want, and the garden is fantastic. I loved how there were plenty of hooks everywhere and a shoe rack. There is nothing worse than having coats, bags and shoes all over the place! The lounge is a lovely place to spend the evening with a meal or drinks and snacks whilst watching TV, if you're not fortunate enough to have the weather to sit out. We enjoyed a nice meal at The White Hart (I can recommend the pie) and the café in the village is lovely. We also had a nice sunny lunch outside The Sea View farm shop and a JustEat delivery from a Nepalese takeaway nearby, the food was delicious. If you're in to sunsets, Trebarwith Strand is a great place to go. There are lovely days out to be had in the area. Porthcothan Beach was our favourite and we enjoyed Port Isaac, Boscastle, Tintagel, Fowey, Bedruthan Steps and a gorgeous walk around the cliffs at Pentire and The Rumps. The coastal views are amazing. We didn't have any issues, but I knew Liz was a phonecall away if we had needed anything. Overall, it was a lovely place to stay and I wouldn't hesitate to book again if we decide to make the long journey down from 'up North'. Thanks Liz and Tim x

The Shippen
This accommodation is perfect. Everything in the Shippen is well thought out, everything you need is in the accommodation. Our dog loved the garden as did we it is so peaceful. The Shippen is perfectly situated for days out at Rock, Tintagel, Port Isaac and Padstow. All nearby beaches are dog friendly as are the majority of pubs. We can't wait to go back there next year for more rest and relaxation.

We spent a week at this beautiful cottage, with family and 3 dogs. Kitchen was well stocked to a high standard, everything was high standard throughout. Was peace of mind to allow the dogs free to run around in the garden. Property was well located to travel all over Cornwall and Devon.

Perfect property
Just back from our 3rd stay at The Shippen. What a perfect property. The garden is wonderful, perfect for our 2 dogs to explore and play, and lovely seating options. The property itself is simply fab, with all mod cons and everything you could ask for. And a great location for exploring the surrounding area. Brilliant communication from the host, Liz too. Highly recommended *****

Lovely cottage for a week away
Great location to explore North Cornwall. Lovely garden off limits as it was damp! Property immaculately clean and had everything you could possibly need. Also had those added extras like cleaning stuff and dishwasher tabs that you often end up buying when away in a rental. Host was available as needed and, as others had mentioned, left us a lovely tea for arrival which was much appreciated. Local pub was welcoming though the cafe and shop were both closed whilst we were there. We ended up using the local farm shops which was expensive but a nice treat!

Enjoyable family holiday
The Shippen is a lovely property with a large garden and equipped with everything we needed for our stay. The garden is lovely and both our grandchildren and our dog could run around outside without us worrying about their safety. The only downside is the location as the road leading from the property doesn’t have a footpath and there was nowhere nearby to walk our dog. The owner communicated well with us and informed me that the tumble dryer was not working eventually getting it replaced with a new one.

Fantastic week at The Shippen!
A brilliant holiday in North Cornwall with my mum, my husband, two children (14 and 12) and the dog! The Shippen is all on one level with a lovely, comfortable lounge/diner, large kitchen with a big table, 3 bedrooms, a bathroom and ensuite toilet and separate shower. The garden is incredible and I do wish the weather had been warmer and drier so we could have eaten out there. As it was, we snatched moments when it was sunny... my favourite spot was right at the top of the garden, looking out over the Cornish countryside. The kitchen is well equipped, plenty of cutlery, crockery, also a coffee machine, dishwasher tablets etc. The Prosecco and cream tea on arrival was delightful. My only niggle was the double bed - we think it's a small double as the pillows overhang slightly off the edge. Neither my husband nor I are 'big' but we really struggled to sleep comfortably together. One night he slept on the sofa and I had a much better night. I can see that no one else has commented on this at all so I think it must just be us! We enjoyed a fantastic roast lunch at the Old Inn, St Breward. Also recommend the stables at Hallagenna for a ride on the moors. Trebarwith Strand is beautiful (check the tide times as it's a tidal beach), also loved Daymer Bay. We walked twice on Pentire/The Rumps/Baby Bay as we liked it so much! Thank you, Liz for all the communications, excellent directions etc and for offering such a wonderful holiday home. We do hope to return!

Just brilliant!
I wasnt expecting such a high level of cleanliness from a dog-friendly property, but it was amazing! Liz has thought of everything inside and outside too! Our guests included a 5 year old, a 90 year old and a few inbetween and we all loved the place! The welcome scones and prosecco was an absolute treat after a big drive and the information pack helped us plan our week while we ate/ drank them. If we could have just booked more sunshine, we could have used the firepit and bbq! We definitely want to visit The Shippen and St Teath again. Xx

From our very first communication with Liz our holiday was perfect. The Shippen has everything you could want (and I'm very fussy!). The beds were super comfy, the house was spotless, the garden was beautiful and the kitchen had everything we needed. The welcome pack was so thoughtful (and tasty!) We wouldn't hesitate to recommend the house to anyone holidaying in North Cornwall. Thank you 😊

Beautiful cottage with everything you could possibly need. The photos do not do it justice. The comfiest beds we’ve ever slept in. The secure garden is huge with three eating areas. Our stay 15th-20th May
Were very please with our stay at the Shippen.Although there isn't a beach right by there were lots of beaches within easy reach by a short car ride. The cottage was very well equipped with everything and thought about making for a comfortable holiday which was really homely and a veritable home from home. Liz was very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble and any questioned we had were answered in a timely fashion. Checking in was easy and the cream tea with milk and a bottle of prosecco was most welcome. Thsnk you Liz and Tim for sharing your beautiful cottage with us for our holiday. Well definitely be back and will be recommending to our friend and family. Jackie, Rod and our furries 💕🐕💕
