Bodrum Beach is Bodrum’s central beach a place to relax and enjoy sweeping views of the Bodrum peninsula and dine on Turkish cuisine at waterfront restaurants. Bodrum Beach is a thin, pebbly beach that runs around a bay on the east side of the town. One of its greatest assets is its close proximity to Bodrum’s town center, hotels and major attractions.
At various points along the beach you can rent sun loungers and umbrellas, to provide shade from the hot sun. If you don’t want to pay for a lounge then you’ll also find some space to lay down a towel. The water here is warm, clean and safe for swimming. It’s also home to colorful marine life, thus a good place for snorkeling.
The beach looks out to the Aegean Sea and offers some excellent views. Look west to Bodrum Castle, with the picturesque Bardakci Beach in the background. Check out the nearby Kara Ada Island and, on a clear day, spot the Greek island of Kos in the distance.
Visit in the evening when restaurants set up open-air seating areas on the beach. Enjoy a romantic dinner while you listen to the small waves break upon the shore. Set back from the beach and running around the bay is Cumhuriyet Caddesi, a lively nightlife and entertainment street. Find local taverns and fast food joints, live music venues, bars and nightclubs.
Bodrum Beach is about a 5-minute walk from Bodrum’s town center and main bus terminal. Combine your visit with a visit to Bodrum Castle, which is home to the Museum of Underwater Archaeology. Alternatively, catch a public bus to the sandy beaches located a short drive west of the town center. Try watersports, such as windsurfing and parasailing, at Gumbet Beach.
