Historic Bologna meets cutting-edge modernity in BolognaFiere, a conference and exposition center with 21st-century facilities for major events. Come to the venue, also known as the Bologna Exhibition Centre, for a wide variety of events with an international array of guests and companies.
BolognaFiere in San Donato is one of three exhibition centers run by the same company in Italy, with other venues in Modena and Ferrara. The business traces its history back to the first regional expositions in 1888. Explore a more modern exhibition complex today in a space that was first developed in the 1960s. The 21st century led to rapid expansion of the center, adding new halls and modernizing the old rooms.
Attend an event at the sprawling complex. The fairground spreads out over 93 acres (37.5 hectares) of land just outside the city center. Use a map of the center to find where you need to be. The space encompasses 18 different halls, each equipped with modern technology for full functionality. Numerous events can be hosted in the center all at once. Events such as the Children’s Book Fair, the International Exhibition of Contemporary Art and the Bologna Beer Festival take place here throughout the year.
Take some time in between seminars, lectures and expositions to eat and drink. The center hosts numerous bars and pizza outlets, as well as a collection of restaurants spread out across the various buildings.
If you are visiting the center for an exhibition or conference, take some time to explore the wider town of Bologna. Find the old town just a short drive away. This area is the home of the stunning Piazza Maggiore and a collection of historically significant churches.
Find BolognaFiere to the northeast of central Bologna, just outside the neighborhood of San Donato. Trams stop outside the center and car parking is available. Walk here in 25 minutes from the main train station in Bologna. Visit the organization’s website to find out about the different entrance points to the exhibition complex.
