Fall 2022 Stay
The property was exactly as VRBO said. The only thing I would suggest is having an area rug in the main part of the cabin. The chilly nights make the floor a little cool. Had I known, I would have brought my slippers. But all in all, we had a very nice stay. The cabin was immaculate! Thank you for making our anniversary getaway special!

Cozy and scenic!
Had a great stay at Blackpowder! Very clean cabin. Close enough to Jackson to get there quickly, yet far enough away to get away from the crowds! Would recommend!

A home away from home!
We stayed in cabin 3 ... It was a darling, spacious space with 2 queen beds, lots of pillows, and comfortable linens. A nice kitchen with microwave, small fridge, stove (we didn't use), dishes, pans, and 10 cup coffee maker with filters...BYO coffee. It has a good size bathroom with a large tub, and good water pressure. There's even a heater in the bathroom. Also, a portable fan and heater available in the kitchen/living room/ bedroom area. Lots of windows we could have opened as well. There was some noise from the highway, but the fan helped minimize that. There was a grill and a campfire sight near the cabin, but we used neither. We did enjoy the little porch, and watched the cattle across the road from us. Also enjoyed the quiet of the flowing creek behind the cabin. Allison was excellent at communicating with us before, during, and after booking. Check in was seamless. She gave us accurate info of the dining/entertainment options. We especially enjoyed our food and drinks at the Elkhorn...only about 2 miles from the cabin....it is open limited days and hours, but we got lucky! Otherwise "town" is a 20-30 minute drive (but scenic).

Affordable lodging
We booked this location because it was really the closest lodging to Jackson Hole-Grand Teton that was affordable and in our price range. We planned a last minute vacation about 6-8 weeks out so options were slim. These cabins are quaint & off the grid. No TV-WiFi which may be an issue for some, we made it work by downloading some shows to our phones before arriving. Also downloading directions prior to needing them is important. You can access WiFi close to their lodge. The showers are tiny, but my 6’2 husband made it work. I believe our cabin could have used a seriously good cleaning, the shower didn’t appear to be cleaned, so I cleaned before use. The kitchen garbage can was filthy…so the cleaning fee they charge needs to be use to hire a new cleaner. Over we made the stay work for us, I think if you knowing going in, it’s isolated and if you are just looking for a simple place at a great price this is it.

Decent place to stay with comfortable beds
For the prices in this area this cabin definitely the bill, but with a little more effort and updates this location could have been amazing. There were some misses on the maintenance & cleaning side during our stay, but the owners were responsive when I reached out to them to make them aware. Cabins do get a good deal of road noise so be aware if you like sleeping with the windows open. I would stay here again in the future if the maintenance issue were addressed.

Y2020-October Anniversary Trip
Great rustic cabin that we used as a home base for visiting Grand Teton National Park. The cabin was very clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. We enjoyed being unplugged for a few days and exploring the local area. Allison was also very helpful in working out my scheduling mistake.

Great place for an unplugged getaway.
Just what we were looking for. Unplugged and off the map. But the drive to Jackson wasn’t bad at all. About 40 minutes. And the price is very reasonable. Definitely recommend staying here while visiting Teton and Yellowstone.

Excellent place!
We loved this cozy cabin outside of Jackson Hole. Right on the river and in the hills, we felt a good distance from the commotion of touristy Jackson, but close enough to drive in each day to the park. Would love to come back!

Cozy cabin
Adorable cozy cabin. Never did figure out the WiFi, or where to take garbage, due to no cellular service, but loved the privacy and property. Gorgeous river right in the backyard. Close to Jackson. Gas BBQ’s, miniature kitchen, with almost everything you need. A pan for the oven would be a nice addition, but luckily we had a disposable tin foil pan for using the oven. Comfortable beds and large water heater so all 4 of us had a nice warm shower each morning. Thanks for having us!

Cabins were just as advertised and very clean. Really liked the distance from Grand Teton- close but away from all the traffic. Definitely coming back.

The drive to the cabin was beautiful.
Since there was no air we could have used a fan. Since it was out in the country was a little concerned about leaving windows open. Also not having any wifi or cell phone if anything happened.

Comfortable Cabin
We loved staying outside of Jackson Hole in this cabin. We were initially worried that that it would be a far drive, but it wasn’t at all. It was a beautiful drive to and from the cabin through the mountain pass. The cabin was spacious, neat and comfortable. Thanks Allison for a great stay, Joe & Kathy

Beautiful and serene. The perfect retreat!
Our stay could not have been more enjoyable! Our group was in Jackson for work and we found the property to be the perfect escape after long days on the job site. Beautiful surroundings, picturesque scenery, and welcoming and friendly hosts. Not to mention the property is right next to the Hoback river! What more could you ask? Initially we had a minor problem with our cabin. We notified our hosts and they immediately upgraded us to the larger lodge on the same property. This was even after they solved the issue. Both the lodge and the smaller cabin were very well equipped and extremely comfortable. We will definitely be staying here again next time we're in WY! PS- Have to give a special shout out to Dawson, the property caretaker. He made us feel extremely welcome and he was very friendly and helpful.

Not impressed!
It was just one small room for 4 of us, I didn’t realise it would be on a busy main road. There was no toilet roll when we arrived and just three towels. There was a fridge and a v small electric burner but not enough space to use it. There was no toaster or kettle and only two plates We did enjoy the bbq area out the back. There were also light bulbs missing ... For the price, I thought that these small essentials would be included.

cozy, comfortable, and accomodating
We enjoyed the rustic coziness. The bed was comfortable and the little kitchen was well stocked with basics for managing our food as we went in and out of the park. The connections with the host worked very well. Thanks for a very pleasant stay!

Nice little cabins on a river
These cabins were just as advertised. Rustic, but with enough amenities to enable a nice stay. Clean and well-kept. Would have rated 5 star, but the stove was not working (we think due to an electrical problem). We were offered a different cabin, but declined and made due with a portable hot plate. Recommend that you buy all food and drinks prior to arrival. There's a small store within 10 miles, but it had very limited stock. There are a couple of restaurants nearby, but they may not be open for breakfast. Granite Springs is very close by and Jackson is a short drive away. For the price it was a great deal and we would stay there again. They also have a lodge for rent if you have a larger group and it looked really nice from the outside.
