Comfortable and inviting home
This was a perfect place for three high school friends to stay for a mini-reunion. The beds were comfortable and the house was well stocked. I can’t imagine anything you need that wasn’t there. And so many nice touches with coffee, snacks, decor… Lots of care is obviously put into making this an inviting place to stay from the decor to the comfortable porch, deck, and fire pit overlooking the mountains and the Kanawha River.

Great house!
House was very clean and decorated beautifully. The fenced in yard and dock made the stay with our fur babies so much easier. House was well stocked. Only complaint is the yard getting mowed at 730 on wednesdays (real early for us night shifters). Master bed wasnt very comfortable. Could use a mattress topper. But all in all was a very wonderful plac. umattress topperr. But all in place to rent

Centrally located for all your West Virginia FUN!
AMAZING! We were greeted with treats! Also had pepperoni rolls, a must try as it is the WV signature food. The Rose River House exceeded our expectations! We felt right at home. Beth & Louie were the Best hosts! We really enjoyed meeting them. Our family vacation to WV is packed with many wonderful memories! The River house is centrally located with many things to do. Waterfalls, hiking and white water rafting just to name a few. When your are ready to relax the scenery just sitting on the porch is picturesque. Hard to believe something so beautiful is effortlessly hand created right in front of you. The River House and the Hosts are GEMS!

Beautiful views and cozy place
This property was a great place to stay while visiting the Gorge in WV. The owner was very responsive. We had storms come through and knock the power out for the entire town and the owner communicated very timely, which helped reduce any disruptions to our trip. The property was well equipped with everything we needed: nice porch over looking the river and mountains, dock for fishing, cozy covered porch, fire pit, grills, washing machine, four beds, all kitchen supplies, and a record player that my kids thought was cool. I would definitely recommend this property for anyone exploring this area. There was a 30 minute curvy drive to get to the touristy area.

You can’t beat the view
I’ve stayed in a few VRBO properties, but this one has been my favorite yet. It is the best stocked rental I have ever stayed in. Beth keeps the place stocked with coffee and other necessities so you feel like you are in your own kitchen. Other positives: 1. Clean- place was spotless, linens were fresh. 2. Family friendly- we had our 3 year old with us, the house has some things there for kids. (Our little loved the wall chalkboard). 3. Location- 30 minutes to the north side of New River Gorge National Park, 25 minutes from Hawks Nest state park. Some beautiful waterfalls just a few minutes from the property. In a small town tucked in a quiet neighborhood. Lastly, the pictures do not do justice to how beautiful the river views are from the porch and patio, I could sit there for hours given the opportunity. Highly recommend, hoping to make a return stay!

Relax & Recharge
From the moment we arrived, We were captivated by the serene surroundings and the cozy ambiance of the cabin. The cabin itself was immaculately maintained and tastefully decorated, striking the perfect balance between cottage charm and modern comfort. One of the highlights of our stay was the breathtaking view from the cabin’s porch . Each morning, we enjoyed coffee while watching the sunrise over the misty mountains, and in the evenings, hanging at the fire pit having smores & cocktails. The location was ideal for nature lovers, with hiking trails and scenic spots just a short walk away. The cabin's amenities were top-notch, ensuring a comfortable and relaxing stay. We appreciated the reliable Wi-Fi, which allowed us to stay connected, and the thoughtful touches like board games and books for those cozy nights in. The host was incredibly accommodating and responsive, providing excellent recommendations for local attractions and dining options. Overall, our Sister’s weekend in this adorable cabin in West Virginia was a perfect retreat Exactly what we needed to relax & recharge!

Great home base for NRG NP
Our family of 4 had a great stay at the Rose River Cottage! It served as an excellent home base for adventures in the area. We hiked at NRG NP, white water rafted (West Virginia Adventures) and Cliff jumped at Summersville Lake (pirates cove for the rocks). Beautiful mornings and sunsets on the river. House is well stocked, and hosts were unbelievably quick with responses.

Quaint Peaceful Place
My husband and I stayed fall of 2023. We were too early for fall foliage, but the landscape was still beautiful. We enjoyed relaxing evenings on the deck - hiking, near by shops, beautiful drives, national park proximity - just an overall wonderful experience. Would highly recommend

What a charming gem on the riverfront
We couldn’t have been happier with our stay at the River Rose cottage, the only negative was we wish we could have stayed longer! Upon arrival, there were numerous thoughtful snacks that the kids were so excited about, especially after a bit of a longer drive. The house is quite charming, and we had absolutely everything we could have needed and more. It’s obvious a lot of thought and love was put into this home to make it a wonderful place to stay. The location on the river is just gorgeous and so peaceful, and having the fenced in yard gave us peace of mind that the kids were safe while playing in the yard. Having never been to the area, we were unsure what to expect and were definitely wishing we had more time to enjoy just being on the river, and to explore the area more. Needless to say, we definitely hope to return and would absolutely stay here again.

We'll be back!
Everything about our time at the cottage in Boomer was lovely--the cottage itself, the fenced-in yard, the river view--but what set this experience apart were the very special people we encountered, starting with our hosts Beth and Louie and including helpful, kind neighbors and passers-by we encountered. I cannot say how grateful we are to all the Boomer residents who rushed to help us when we needed it. We'll definitely be back! I feel as though I've found my second home!

The property owners attention to small details like local recommendations, snacks, and a fully stocked coffee bar truly make this property a great place to visit. The location sets it a part from others in the area with the connivence of being a short drive from all attractions. Can’t wait to stay again!

Beautiful View / Welcoming Home
When we first arrived at the property, we noticed the view. The view from the deck was spectacular. Inside the home, the owner had little treats and all the fixings for smore's which was so nice. House was spotless and was very comfortable. While visiting, my husband and I were able to tour waterfalls, hike, and had a 25 minute ride to some nice restaurants. Grocery store was within five minutes. Owner made sure she was available for any questions. Highly recommend this place if you are looking for a relaxing stay with a wonderful view.
