"We arrived to to a dark, cluttered smelling flat. The windows and front door have no fly screens so opening them was not an option, unless you like midgee and mosquito bites. The place was packed full of furniture so there was no space to move. Dead cockroaches decorated available surfaces. The outdoor back area was full of cobwebs and leaf matter and the yelping puppy next door completed the ambience. The bedroom fan didn’t work and there was no aircon. "The unit is in a great location, quiet and opposite the beach. It looks very nice, well furnished and decorated but it is let down by lack of attention to detail: Apparently the letting agent, Elders, was supposed to give us a Starter Pack of basics when we collected the key. Yhat didn’t happen, so went went shopping for toilet paper, detergent, soap, dish cloth, and washing powder, all of which were in the Stater pack we received 2 days later! Besides all that, the salt and pepper shakers are...

"The stay at Evans Head lived up to our expectations. The unit and lounge is "dated" Lack of WiFi was sorely noted"

"Location close to town centre, river and beaches. Unfortunate that 3 light globes, including bed lamps were blown. TV remote did not work until batteries were replaced. Small issues that should have been dealt with before our stay. That aside we enjoyed our stay in a well equipped unit and safe, lock up garage."

"Lovely simple decor without clutter, clean and functional. Quiet area. The only negative was that the kitchen blind did not close, feeling exposed to neighbouring properties in the evening when the lights were on, though a simple fix to replace."

"Bunk bed had no safety rail therefore mattress had to be placed on floor. Trundle bed was not suitable to sleep on. No ceiling fans, only 2 table top fans. Smelt damp, needs some TLC"

"Well located unit, close to all facilities, nice clean place and well stocked with cooking utensils,crockery etc, the only downfall was the main bed, the mattress really needs to be replaced, ended up sleeping in the spare room in single beds."
