In summer this is theplace to be if you want to swim in Marseille. Pack your swimmers and follow thelocals to the sandy shoreline. Lay your towel down to secure the perfect spotto pass the afternoon. Rent a chair or umbrella for some added comfort as youread your book.

Rent a boat to explorethe calm waters just offshore. Peer back to land to see Marseille rising upfrom the sand, a spectacular sight. Bring an inflatable tube to bob about inthe gentle waves.

After you’ve had enoughof the water, dry off and head to the cosmopolitan offerings of the nearbystreets. Find fashionable boutiques, cosy bars and modern restaurants along thepromenade. Sit down in an open-air dining area to watch as the sun goes downover the horizon. Meeting friends for some local seafood and wine is a greatway to end the day.
