"We stayed in a large room, 5 of us. There is a communal kitchen “alfresco” which is welcome when you donc want to eat out every meal. Alex, the owner, is super friendly. He gave us good advice on places to see, beaches to visit. One downside: the place had a bit of a damp smell. "

Located in a beautiful rainforest setting, our room was clean, modern and comfortable and overlooked a lovely swimming pool which we used daily during our stay. "My wife and I stayed at the Kunken Lodge along our travels around the beautiful country of Costa Rica. Famous for its colorful wooden masks, the indigenous mountain-top community of Boruca is worth a visit for anyone interested in the cultures of Costa Rica. There are many artists here who are happy to share their craft with you. Masks make very reasonably priced souvenirs. Their festival every December 30- January 2 is an amazing event, not to be missed.
