A Provencal village house within walking distance of shops and restaurants.

Located in the Provencal village of Boulbon between Avignon and Arles, the house dates back to the 14th century. It is situated just within the ramparts of an old fortified chateaux and about 100 meters from the village square. Part of the structure contains the communal well and washing sinks for the old fortified town, hence the name 'La Maison du Puits' or 'The Well House'. It has a sun terrace and small garden. The house floor area is 120m² on 3 floors and was totally renovated in 1999 by a local stone mason. It has 3 bedrooms, (two doubles and one twin) and two bathrooms, one en suite. A travel cot (95x65cms) is also available for babies.
There are 5 bicycles available for guest use, and there is a free car park 150m from the house.
There is very limited transport to the village of Boulbon and a hire car is recommended to explore the sites of Provence.

TAXES
The owner is obliged to collect a stay tax or tourist tax on behalf of the French government. It is about 1.2 euros per person (over 18) per day but depends upon the nightly rate at the time. This will be added to the HomeAway invoice
LINEN
The price includes one set of bed linen and towels. Guests making longer stays may request a change of bed linen and towels during their stay. This will be provided by
by the caretaker at additional cost, payable locally. Alternatively guests may do their own laundry.
CLEANING
The cost of cleaning at the end of the stay is included in the price. For longer stays, intermediate cleaning may be possible, subject to the cleaner being available. This will be organised by the caretaker at additional cost, payable locally.
WIFI
The property has free wifi in all rooms.

What a beautiful old house!
We enjoyed our one-week-stay immensely, because this beautifully restored old southern-french townhouse has all the facilities, you'll need and is situated in an area, where you find lots of places to visit and activities to do. And on a a rainy day, you'll find the place very cozy. We'll be returning there for sure!

Boulbon praises
We chose this property after seeing it on a previous trip when we were enchanted by its age and location. It lived up to all expectations for us. We are two pretty fit senior citizens who were travelling with our 22 year old granddaughter. Paola, the property manager in the village, was amazing. It is an easy 15 minute drive to the Avignon TGV station. The village boulangerie is wonderful, and the small grocery had everything we needed.

Not only was this 3 level house lovely and roomy (for 2 couples), we so enjoyed experiencing life in a small town in this part of France. Great location, lovely accomodation, and Paola was very kind and helpful during our stay. 5 stars!

Authentic and chaming stay
We have enjoyed our stay. Easy communication with the Owner Leslie. This old renovated house is charming and tucked within the old town. Paola who managed the check in and check out was very attentive and very accomodating with plenty of useful suggestions. We highly recommend.

A great week in Boulbon
The house was beautifully renovated and there was plenty of space for our family of six. Boulbon is a town of great character and we saw several events there - the Blessing of the Bottles and a cycle race, plus there were concerts and a fun fair.Weather good throughout despite forecasts of daily thunderstorms! .

Great home base for enjoying Provence
The house was wonderful and suited our large family well. We enjoyed eating our meals on the terrace. They did a great job of making sure we had everything we needed. We enjoyed walking to the patisserie, butchery, and Utile every morning. Our boys enjoyed biking and hiking in and around the town. The location was ideal and it was easy to get to many different sites.

Like a little Castle
Beautiful property inside the walls of the old medieval city. You can see it has been wonderfully restored with much love. It is just like staying in a little castle. Butcher, bakery and small grocery store less than 3 minutes walk. Great location to settle for a week or more and satellite to other culturally rich villages and towns. I certainly recommend it.

Fantastic property and hosts
Fantastic charming old medieval house in no less charming small village in the neighbourhood of Tarascon. Well equipped house. Easy and quick communication with the hosts and very sympathetic local caretaker. For elderly people, be aware that the staircase is spiral and rather steep. We strongly recommend this property.

Lovely stay in Provence.
We had a lovely one-week stay in Boulbon at La Maison des Puits. The house is large and historic - it truly feels like staying somewhere special. We had expected to be five people, but ended up being three. It would have been more than enough space for our entire group. The owner - Les - was VERY quick to respond and really accommodating. The local caretaker of the property - Paola - was absolutely fantastic. Boulbon itself is a small, very quiet, and very historic village - close enough to other towns/areas we wanted to see - having a car is key to be able to do that. We hope to be back!

A lovely week in Provence
My friends and I were delighted with the Maison des Puits and with Boulbon. The historic house was charmingly renovated and had all the amenities we needed. People in the village were quite friendly and it was so convenient to have the plaza and small shops within walking distance. Boulbon is an excellent location for making day trips to places like Arles, Avignon, Nimes and Isle sur la Sorgue. We had a wonderful dinner at L'Oranger our last night in Boulbon. Though there was a glitch in our check-in process, Les was in touch right away...and Paola and her husband were helpful upon our departure in getting our bags to the car. Overall it was the perfect place for a reunion of 3 long-time friends!

Glorious house in a picture book village
The Maison du Puits in situated in the village of Boulbon, a short 18 km south of Avignon, and a world away from the traffic and tourist hustle one finds in urban Provence. Surrounded by orchards and vineyards, Boulbon is a gem with one boulangerie, one mini-market, and two cafes/restaurants that seem to be all the residents need to live a satisfying Provencal life. The house is immaculate on three levels with room for many though there were only two of us. Stay at the Maison du Puits and wonder why anyone would consider staying anywhere else. And Paoula, the caretaker is a gem; speaker of at least three languages and a joy to interact with. More than a five star experience.

A quiet corner in a lovely small town
We were pleasantly surprised by how much we enjoyed this town. Our two weeks flew by and we had so much more to see. Close to Avignon, Arles, the Luberon & Nimes (amongst others). The house is tucked away in a back corner of the town, a very short walk to the bakery, small grocery store (which opened at 7 am and while we did our large shops in Tarascon it had everything we needed in between) and pharmacy. The walk to the central parking lot was less than 5 minutes. There is a lovely split-level terrace, we ate outside nearly every meal at the end of June. The table has a large umbrella we used mid-day and brought down in the evening. Our family of six had a great stay and all wished we could stay longer!

Wonderfully Historic South of France Stay
The medieval home was very comfortable and also a great way to become immersed into one of the historic communities that make up the south of France. The medieval village was lovely. The location could not be beat for day trips. All in all a great place to stay while exploring the south of France.
