"We chose this property because it was perfectly located for hiking along the John O’Groats Trail and accessing the ferries to Orkney. The house was spotless and spacious. It had an upstairs with 3 bedrooms and a bath which we didn’t even use. The kitchen had everything we needed; loved the washer and dryer. The host was super accessible- not that we needed her. "

"We were accommodated for very well, and we found this to be the better hotel out of the 4 we stayed in over our week trip doing the NC500. It’s not exactly the Ritz but it’s clean, comfortable and cosy. In a decent location (not much to do in the town but it was nice and quiet). Would stay here again if we were near the area in a heartbeat!"

"The Keeper's Cottage is a real highlight of any holiday. Its remote location surrounded by incredibly stunning scenery, is super relaxing and blissful. It has all the mod cons but also a feeling of living off grid. We loved the isolation and seclusion the property offered and enjoyed many walks with our dog. "I loved the remoteness of this wee cottage. If you’re looking for somewhere quiet, with lots of lovely walks, then this is ideal. The cottage is powered by a generator, which you can hear but soon get used to. Make sure you bring everything you need, it’s a fair trek to the nearest shop! My dog ran around the forest all day long and slept all night and I chilled out with a glass or two of wine. I hope to visit again in the not too distant future."
