The Space:
Sabai Retreat by Tiny Away is a serene getaway located in Bramston Beach, which is just an hour's drive away from Cairns, famously known as the gateway to Australia's Great Barrier Reef. The tiny house is nestled on 66 acres of tropical rainforest in an open lawned area surrounded by Mangosteen and Malaysian Dwarf Coconut trees amidst beautiful forest and tropical garden areas.
Discover easy access to rainforest walks and proximity to the Four Winds Garden Retreat, all within reach of popular local attractions such as Josephine Falls, Babinda Boulders, Eubenangee Swamp National Park and Bartle Frere trail to
Broken Nose, Bramston Beach, Etty Bay, Paronella Park and the Franklin Islands. It's an ideal destination for outdoor enthusiasts.
A cozy 139-square-foot tiny home with easy water access, split air conditioning, a kitchenette, cooking equipment, and excellent bathroom facilities. These amenities include an eco-friendly cassette toilet with a removable waste holding tank, hand basin, and gas-heated shower.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Please advise that this tiny house runs entirely on solar energy, and we highly recommend guests save energy to prevent power outages or blackouts.
Guest Access:
Guests will have access to the tiny house, gardens, and forest walks. There are, however, restricted areas surrounding the house. In addition, we have a parking area near the tiny house for guests to use.
If you're interested, we have pre-orders and activities listed below with prior arrangements from their land host 24 hours in advance.

The Neighborhood:
Sabai Retreat by Tiny Away is located in Bramston Beach, a popular turtle nesting area where you can witness the incredible sight of baby turtles frolicking in the sea. It's also an ideal spot for fishing enthusiasts, conveniently located just an hour's drive away from Cairns. Etty Bay, Paronella Park, Franklin Islands, and the Four Winds Garden Retreat are just a few minutes away.
Our local recommendations:
- Josephine Falls is a scenic waterfall with a natural cascading waterslide and beautiful walks along the river.
- Etty Bay is located about 40 minutes from the property, a popular family beach with a high chance of seeing a Cassowary.
- Babinda Boulders is a popular tourist attraction in Cairns that features lush rainforest, clear blue pools, and unusual rock formations.
- Innisfail is the closest town in the Cassowary Coast Region, with exciting attractions including elevated walkways, cantilevers, and spectacular views of rainforest landscapes.
- Eubenangee Swamp has over 200 species recorded and is reputedly the last remaining natural association of vine forest, grassland, sedge, and paperbark swamp forest occurring on basalt.
Food Scene
- Babinda Kool Spot Cafe serves delicious fish and chips, burgers, and home-style meals.
- Mirriwini Hotel has a wonderful restaurant with a great grill and delicious buffet meals on Friday & Saturday nights.
- Hey Maté in Babinda is a funky new cafe that serves barista coffee, gourmet slow-cooked toasties, delicious cakes, pastries, and good vibes.

- No BBQ pit available
- Pets are not allowed
- WIFI is currently unavailable
- Solar-powered / Off-grid unit
- No smoking allowed on the property
- Fire pit is not available during wet season
- No unregistered visitors or guests allowed
- Late checkouts on request may also be subject to availability
- Telstra. Optus and Vodafone have reasonable mobile reception
- We will notify you by text of any flood alerts in the area during your stay
- We would like to advise guests that longer stays or later check-outs will incur an additional charge
- Guided Walking Tour of our Rainforest Trail is available and subject to Nancy’s availability and weather conditions
- Cassowaries visit the block at different times, please do not feed them and do not approach the bird. If you sight a snake (usually pythons) please let Nancy know and the local snake catcher will come and remove it. Please do not attempt to kill snakes or insects.
Guest Advisory
- Guests are advised to bring portable power banks in case of low power
- Guests are also advised to save energy to avoid running out of electricity
- Please charge your phone and electronics in advance in case of low-light days
Important note:
- Due to the nature of the property, abundant wildlife may be present on the property
- Keep in mind that BBQ grills and outdoor fire pits are not available during a total fire ban
- For stays of 5 nights or more, an additional cleaning fee will be collected to help maintain the [compost/cassette] toilets and ensure a clean and fresh experience for all guests. We appreciate your understanding.
