Vermont Retreat
This is a non-smoking one-bedroom apartment with a queen-sized bed. It is convenient to mountains, lakes, and more. A great place for a trip skiing, hiking, biking, or kayaking. The apartment has a small kitchen. It has almost anything you would need. Curtis and I live in the yellow house across the driveway and welcome any requests you might have. We are located on a country road that is quiet and enjoyable.

Very well appointed
Cozy and everything you could need. Really nice kitchen set up and excellent appliances. After a week on the road, the washer & dryer were a welcome refresh of clothing. It's a few minutes west of Woodstock down a country road, so secluded. Takes dogs - wish we had one!

For Those Wanting Comfort and Quiet...
I was travelling solo for fall foliage photography in and around the Woodstock area. I wanted a small fully-contained suite in a quiet location, and this fit the bill completely. The bedroom was a good size with a comfortable queen bed; the living area had a sofa and recliner along with a tv and electric fireplace; the dining area had a good-sized table and food prep area, and the compact kitchen had all the necessities for food prep and storage. In-suite laundry and shower-bathroom rounded out the amenities. There are several windows providing good lighting throughout the suite.
The property is quiet and full of trees and birds. Stargazers will appreciate viewing the dark skies right outside the door or elsewhere on the property. It is located in Bridgewater; a scenic 15-minute drive east finds you in the town of Woodstock, or a similar drive west to the Killington ski hills area. It is a perfect central location for exploring the area while avoiding the busyness and slow traffic in the major towns. Woodstock has a large market for all your grocery needs, but it is only about 30 minutes' drive to Lebanon NH if you need big-store shopping.
Ellen and Curtis were very hospitable, friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this location and would stay there again.

Beautiful place! Amazing hospitality! 10/10!
Great location! Perfect set up for 2 people and dog friendly! Lots of property to hike. And by far Ellen and her husband, the owners of the property were absolutely wonderful! Amazing people with great hospitality! Literally the nicest people ever! Very attentive and just a call or text away if we needed anything. The place was extremely clean and cozy! Honestly couldn’t have picked a better place to stay! It was fully stocked with everything you could need and she was even nice enough to make us a homemade loaf of banana bread and homemade Mac and cheese! Just the sweetest, kindest people on the planet! We had a wonderful vacation and absolutely will be coming back there next time we visit Vermont! You will not be disappointed! Definitely recommend!

Amazing stay
A wonderful stay at Vermont Retreat. Love the wooded location. Quiet and restful. Hosts were readily available. Delightful to find banana bread, coffee, and OJ waiting for me, on arrival. The place was equipped with everything one could possibly need. The washer and dryer in the apartment were a very convenient plus! I hope to return next year.

Wonderfully Cozy
Just pack your clothes- because you’ll have pretty much everything else you’ll need in this very clean and cozy apartment. Felt very inviting and a lot like home. Never met the hosts but if you need anything, they are just a text away! The road is very dark at night but there’s a motion detector in the drive way as soon as you pull up … I also like the motion detector nightlights throughout the apartment. Easy, comfortable and cozy about sums it up! Highly recommend!!!
I absolutely loved my stay at this property. The accommodation is an apartment in a converted barn. It's a beautiful quiet location a short drive from Woodstock. The hosts were fantastic and gave me some great suggestions of places to visit, they also left wonderful muffins for my arrival. I would definitely stay here again.

Lovely Place with Great Host!
Our stay at Ellen’s place was great! We were a short drive away from killington so that made it easy to get there in the morning! The place was clean and looked just like the listing, and Ellen left us a banana bread which was awesome! I can’t think of the last time I had a host as warm and inviting as Ellen, she really made the trip! The kitchen was also pretty well stocked for a rental, so we were able to cook pretty effectively. Overall, I think this was a great place to stay if you don’t want to pay the prices closer to the mountain!

pleasant stay in Vermont
Thanks you for the lovely accommodations. Having the bonus muffins, coffee and orange juice to get our day going was especially over the top. We were a little surprised to have neighbors come in to the room above us. We had thought the appt was all by itself in the barn, but it turned out fine as they were pretty quite. Thanks!

Cozy and homey Vermont stay!
We had an amazing time staying at Ellen’s place while visiting Vermont during foliage season. The location was perfectly near Woodstock and various hiking trails. Ellen’s place was filled with thoughtful touches and everything we could’ve asked for. She also kindly gave us recommendations for best places to see. Thanks again for everything - we hope to be back soon!!
