Bronte Beach is a fantastic recreational beach for all ages, in a convenient, central location. Appreciate the beach itself, a shining example of Sydney’s beaches, with inviting blue waters and golden sand. Behind the sand is a large grassy picnic area with barbecues and benches, which are free for anyone to use.
The beach is nestled in a cove along Sydney’s eastern coast. It’s popular for a reason. Dive into the waves and feel the glistening blue waters surround you. This well-known surf beach frequently has large waves, so make sure there are lifeguards before you enter the water. Relax in the large ocean-fed swimming pool which is built into the side of the cliffs. The pool also has lanes for lap swimming. Splash around in the “bogey-hole,” a small, sheltered rock pool perfect for children.
Warm up on the soft, smooth sand. Cool down again at one of the many local cafés. Bronte is known to have fantastic food and drinks, so arrive early. The shady park behind the beach is another great option. Bring a picnic lunch to enjoy along with the spectacular view. There is also a playground, so the kids can play happily for hours.
Wander along the coastal path to see additional outstanding views. If you walk north, you will reach famous Bondi Beach in about 30 minutes. Bondi is much larger than Bronte and it is usually much busier, but it’s still worth seeing the huge stretch of sparkling coastline.
Use the bathrooms, showers and other facilities available at the beach. There is a small metered parking lot. Many of the roads near the front are also metered. If you would like one of these spots, make sure to arrive early in the morning. You can also park a few streets back for free and you won’t have to walk too far. Buses are a good option as they arrive regularly from the direction of the city and from Bondi Junction.
Stunning, family-friendly and in a prime location, Bronte Beach is a Sydney favourite.
