The room was clean and comfortable. The food was great. The staff friendly. It’s right in the heart of Bury St Edmunds, close to the cathedral. Abbey grounds, shopping and lots of restaurants.
Very friendly and efficient staff. Good to stay somewhere a little different. Great range of old photos and interpretation boards explaining the history of the property and the brewery story
Staff were very friendly and helpful. The only thing I would say is because it is a pub it can be a little loud if you are wanting and early night. This didn’t affect us but I know some people it will. The food in the pub was very tasty too.
Rooms newly refurbished (as of Feb 2024). Bathroom in particular looked very elegant.
Staff were very pleasant and helpfull. Good beer and pub style food.
What a find, accommodation in the centre of town with quality food and drink on site. Great mix of old with the new, lovely rooms extremely well kitted out and even a welcome gift. The only minor niggle was lack of magnifying mirror for shaving/make up.

Staff were superb. We were always met with a smile. Helped with parking arrangements and directions around Bury during major road works in the centre of the town.
Quaint and quirky pub. Rooms are to a high standard though cozy rather than roomy. Good facilities in room. Evening menu a bit limited but lots of other places nearby. Dogs allowed in pub but no dog friendly rooms.

Good nights stay.
Good night stay whilst being on business. The bathroom was incredible and newly done with a huge and incredibly powerful shower.
Some of the decor was a little dated and there was lots of hanging and noises during the night. But good place to stay on a business trip.
Stayed for a weekend away and the room was lovely. Had a few drinks in the bar and the beer was lovely. Staff were friendly. Did the brewery tour, which I would highly recommend. Shame that when we turned up there was no space in the car park. But the next morning we were able to get a space. Would definitely stay again.
Adam and his team were great, after my wife had to visit A&E he contacted us to say he would stay up incase we were back very late and needed to change room.
The crisis over the nextday we enjoyed the pub ambience lovely rooms and food.
Great stay in central Bury St Edmunds fo a 50th birthday celebration weekend.
I was a solo traveller in a spacious double room on the second floor. There is no lift which wasn't an issue for me.
My only issue with the rooms is that it was impossible to turn the radiators on. Otherwise the building has been sympathetically decorated with a cosy ambience. The evening meal was excellent. Staff friendly and helpful.
An overnight visit to Bury St Edmond’s to see a play at the local theatre. Chose this hotel for its proximity to the theatre. Hotel is in excellent condition due to an ongoing renovation but the downside was a lack of parking on site. Hotel was very clean and comfortable however and we would stay again once they fix the parking situation.
We booked in so that we could attend the Theatre Royal, which is close by. We wondered whether the parking would be adequate, and it was. We had lunch on arrival. My wife ordered chicken kiev but the dish was really chicken escalopes, but still nice. We liked our room. Temperature control via radiator valves. Very comfortable and clean. The bathroom equipment looked brand new.
