"Restaurant was closed during our stay and we were not aware at time of booking. Seems it’s closed every weekend!! Receptionist on check in was not very helpful Asked for kettle and cups and told to look in room first then was only given kettle -asked for ice for room and told to go to supermarket. Elizabeth who was on later got cups and ice for us. Back there next week. Will wait and see but nice location"

"The staff were excellent and very helpful. The rooms need refurbishing and bringing up to a good standard. Only 2 out of 3 lifts working, and you had to wait awhile for the lift. Pool on roof very small and only a few sunbeds. Always taken early. The beach is a good 30 minute walk."

"The hotel is located about a 5 minute walk from Santa Catalina bus station, which is a great way of getting to/from other parts of the island. The area around the elevator on the 14th floor smelled of dampness and mold but there was a sign indicating that they were resolving an issue. Aside from that the hotel and the room were very clean. The room was a good size and had a balcony with an amazing view of the city and the ocean. The fitness centre was small but had enough equipment to work with."

"Clean rooms and very convenient city center but no parking and there is a club directly underneath the hotel so if you’re looking for a good nights rest, this is not the place to stay literally music until 5 AM in the morning but so loud that I couldn’t even hear my TV"

It's literally less than a minute's walk to the beach and promenade and not too far from the main bus station. There's also a large shopping mall about ten minutes walk away at the harbour. "Great hotel, coulnt find a fault, our room was clean everyday, fresh towels daily, breakfast nice with lots lf options, staff so polite and helpful. Definitely going back! Oh! and the location, it could be better, walking distance to the Mercado del Puerto, plaza de Santa Catalina, bus station, and playa de la cantera, plenty of good restaurants around. Great location!! 5 out of 5 for this hotel!!!"

"Loved the hotel & location was brilliant. 2 small criticisms. A hot water urn at breakfast would be great to save us tea drinkers waiting at the coffee machine for hot water. No drawers in rooms! Even a bedside compartment would be nice. We will certainly return to this hotel as pretty much perfect 😀"

"The reception staff were excellent and very helpful. The room we had was perfect we had a lovely balcony overlooking the beach. The bathroom was modern with a walk in shower. The only thing missing was tea and coffee making facilities."

"Not a hotel as such, these rooms/suites are very modern, well equipped and the project is very well managed.The area isn't the best, however it is only 1 block from the fabulous Cantaras beach, with all it's bars and restaurants, also walking distance to the Aquarium which is highly recommended and one block from the Port market which is also worth a visit. Discounted parking in the adjacent car park is an added bonus. We only stayed for 2 days and would stay again but probably on the other side...

"We recently spent 6 nights at Occidental Las Canteras and the Hotel did indeed meet our needs: Location is great. You are a few steps off the Beach Las Canteras which is a gorgeous yellow sand with a long promenade full of bars and restaurants. The Hotel, although sells their stay as a resort, has no swimming pool neither provides beach service such as towels nor umbrellas/chairs.
